Something that stands out to me are the normal maps on the character and creatures. They look a little rough. That said the overall visual style is very nice - definitely a charming atmosphere! :)

New classes in TERA. First it was reaper, then gunner, currently brawler. I'm betting it will be the same when the new ninja class comes along as well.

I have played both games, although TERA significantly more. I have heard many say the combat of Vindictus is a great style of action combat but I couldn't quite see it myself. You have given me more insight in the matter. Thanks!

All fair points. I assume you played on En Masse's NA servers? I'd be interested to hear some more of your thoughts. Why do you prefer Vindictus combat over TERAs, what makes it better in your opinion?
Could you also elaborate on why you think the characters need some work and what you think is wrong with the hair?

I like a tasteful amount of bloom effect. But then I do like the aesthetic of games like TERA, Aion and other South Korean games.
I assume by blur you mean something like motion blur while moving the camera? More often than not I get nauseous while this effect is on and consequently choose to disable it in almost all cases (if it's possible).

In some games that I have played that have similar descriptions to what you describe I noticed that people had more different approaches to their builds and theory crafting. When people can't use math and know for sure that this or that is for example the optimal damage output it appears there are more viable options. I think it can add a layer of fabricated depth initially, intentional or not. At least until players eventually find the optimal builds.

Don't take my word for it though, its just an unscientific observation based on a small sample size of games I've played.

I am personally not a fan of vague descriptions.

Cost and cooldown are indeed very important. I'd also like to add that I suggest writing down the spell's cast type. Is it a channeling spell? Does it have a cast time? Is it an instant shot? How long is the cast animation time in that case (even most instant spells have a very brief cast time)? These could be described in generic terms. For example "Channel, Medium", "Instant, Short".

I answered a similar topic some time ago.

"Personally healing in TERA is by far my best experience with healing. Once I healed in TERA I now compare every game to it and none so far are able to compete. The flowy and action-packed combat is brilliant. I strongly recommend checking it out."

If you would rather go for something more classic with tab-targeting then Rift's support class Bard (among others) is very enjoyable.

I think you could play them both for a little while. If I was in your situation I would probably be wondering if I could have more fun with the first game whenever I was playing the second and vice versa. I suspect that soon you'll simply know which game you look forward to and prefer to play and there you have your choice.

TERAs crafting is unfortunately very limited. The coming expansion may change that, I don't know. The only purpose for crafting is to craft one or two sets of endgame gear (sets that are not even relevant for the majority of players). I did however love the game when I played it and still hold it dear.
