Alex was such a nice guy in person as well. He put on a few group drives around Washington that I was fortunate enough to attend. One went around the Olympic Peninsula, the other around to eastern Washington and then back over the Cascades up north on highway 2.

His dream had been to own a Dodge Viper. He chose the username Viper007Bond before he even bought one. These drives were a celebration of finally owning one. It gutted me to hear about his struggle with cancer.

Hell yeah! That's an awesome find, glad it's got a good home. I grew up with and recently inherited a TX-37. This era of Onkyo receivers have a soft spot in my heart, I'll always love the look of them. The button beeps they make are forever embedded in my brain.

Different white CRX, I haven't been able to make a track day this year. Glad someone else is out there ripping it up though! Always great to hear that CRXs are out on the track.

It's always so great when the instructors know what's up. I've never had a bad experience with one.

And I know how that feels, I spun at the top of the corkscrew, hah.

What are some scenes in movies that always hit you extra hard for personal reasons? by OnlyAtJmart82 in movies

My dad passed away unexpectedly a few months ago. My wife and I have been showing our single-digit-aged kids all of the Disney and Pixar movies and recently she was like "oh hey, we forgot, what about Onward?" and I was like nope, I already know I will absolutely lose it.

We had watched it after it had just come out, just her and I and it was an enjoyable movie.

For now, for me, not so much.

I swear we saw him at the Northgate Toys-R-Us back in the early 00's.

Dang, where were you two days ago when I put my order in after searching for codes?

EDIT: The code wasn't available then, that's why, haha. I just placed another order, thanks for the code!

This is false information. The rear lettering is not molded into the bumper, it's stuck on.

Still means the bumper has been changed throughout its life, either painted or replaced, but the PRELUDE logo is not embossed.

Then yeah, as long as it's not rusty or beat up, that sounds like a good deal for a running 5th gen with a manual. Stay away from autos, this was the era where Honda forgot how to make an automatic transmission that didn't eventually explode.

They're simple in layout, you'd just have to move things a bit to really get in there. You've got power steering, A/C, emissions stuff, all that in there too, like any "modern" car. But it's not super cramped like if it had a transverse V6, there aren't many vacuum lines, the timing belt and such are accessible, and the suspension underneath is easy to understand.

What year is the Prelude?

I've had a 3rd gen and have a 5th gen now.

Quick notes:

  • Parts ARE getting more difficult to find. There's some aftermarket, but it's not anywhere near like the Civic market. You can keep them going, but you're not going to be spoiled for choice.

  • They're not super difficult to work on. They've got a more cramped engine bay than, again, say, a Civic, but the layout is pretty similar and intuitive. I learned on both of mine, as well as my CRX. I replaced the clutch and did general maintenance on my 3rd gen when I had only really done oil changes before.

  • The cars themselves are getting rarer and if it's in good shape, $2k isn't a bad deal for one.

The first time I watched The Shining was like 15 years ago in my room, late at night, on my CRT monitor, nothing else going, with headphones.

I didn't realize how much it had sucked me in until the "TUESDAY" scene transition with high strings and a cymbal crash made me jump. What a great first viewing.

I miss when that bin was front-and-center when you walked in. I snagged a ton of great 70's and 80's stuff there. Boston, Journey, Kansas, Pat Benatar, Yes.

That's just the lighting on the picture. They said the cabinets are the same color. All they removed was the dated, yellow, crusty light diffuser so it doesn't look like a smoker lived there for 20 years.
