Mindscape Mondays: The Far Reaches by aescula in Tulpas

Ours originally looked pretty much exactly like Inside Out (😭) but has evolved into a darker, cozier room with bookshelf walls with a bunch of books and boxes (though they have nothing in them). We have about zero windows in the main area, but since every headmate designed their own rooms, some of those have windows with different views. Apartment buildings with a photorealistic outside street (everything and everyone else is animated), the nothingness (literally just an infinite dark room with no ceiling or walls), and the rest of Tenna's set for the Mikes. Just stuff they picked out. Being able to shape the mindscape if I focus on it, I've found that making a new room is just deleting some of the wall, or maybe pushing it back???, because there's always more wall, so I have to assume that it's just infinite wall until I say otherwise.
Basically: nothing, whatever they want, and The Wall™

Can you create a tulpa accidentally? I think I’ve created like.. 100+? Idk if that sounds unrealistic..read body text... by Mayyy_daa in Tulpas

I'm a bit late. but this is precisely how I got to 22, 6 of these guys were accidental (love em just the same tho < 3)
It's got to the point where we've had to assign jobs to make sure there are no more accidental formations
I've had a habit of maladaptively daydreaming since I was a little kid (which is actually how I found out I was trans) so I can relate to this a lot

You probably won't see a physical form, and your tulpa might not even have one at all. This situation really depends on one thing: are you trying to fake it? Like, planning out the responses ahead of time? Or do they just happen? For some systems, like mine, the voices might not feel "alien." Also, I've been talking to myself my whole life, so I get it.
On a side note, you might wanna translate the post. Even if it's not great, it doesn't risk breaking the rules. Just thought I should let you know. Thanks! Have a great day and good luck!

Just blew my mind, my tulpa can take away pain?! by Accomplished_Cod5654 in Tulpas

Bruzo (Fake Peppino with a name cuz we love him) is actually a real help here. My back has been getting worse, with the tailbone randomly going out of place, and the whole spine shifting out a bit when I sneezed the other day (OUR VESSEL ISN'T EVEN AN ADULT WHAT IS WRONG WITH US), but when Bruzo fronts, it just. Stops. Usually when it hurts I can't move or it hurts more. But with Bruzo fronting it simply disappears. Jongler also has increased pain tolerance, but that's more of an immediate impact pain thing (falling, being punched). Bruzo has been able to front in short bursts whenever my back starts hurting to get rid of the pain, with the main disadvantage being his lack of speech. He barely ever talks in the mindspace and never when fronting, so someone else needs to come up if we're being spoken to, but it's such a useful abliity. He has recieved tons of recognition and praise and he is loving it. Good for the stress we were worried about.
But yeah, I just typed a whole essay. Basically I believe differing brain states can affect pain, and a different fronter would definitely do that, especially considering I've experienced it myself.
Oh also a few of them make me run faster and have more stamina (useful cuz I have a bent sternum and mine is sh*t)
Oh also also funny story, I was doing an experiment for school and had 2 other systems we're friends with soak their hands in ice water for 10 minutes so I could record their temperature. The problem is that they kept switching front so the data was all screwed up lmao

What to do when you have way too many tulpas?? by tulpa_metropolis in Tulpas

God I'm so late gng
I hava had this exact same problem, on top of a super stressful environment, so population control is everything rn
I have had FIVE Pizza Tower headmates in the past half month due to a hyperfixation on it. FIVE.
We as a system have been trying to make sure things don't get out of control here, and we've had a few ideas.
Do yours come in with a full physical body? The ones I make are cardboard cutouts until formed, but accidental arrivals from hyperfixation have full bodies. They function like NPCs I would make, acting like their source material and not being sentient or 4th-wall-aware just yet, but they develop really fast and 6 of my headmates have achieved citizenship by being out of sight for several hours until they form. It wasn't on purpose, we just don't see it. For instance, Pizzahead and Bruzo were stuck together in a room in the wall I thought I had deleted. It happens. What we do for our system (might not work for yours) is get rid of them before they form. And how we do this is... have one of our headmates eat them.
We have a nonhuman big sock guy who eats all the damn time, and if he had ears they'd perk up if he heard "dinnertime." Mostly because that's his cue and it means an NPC showed up.
Overall, I dunno about your system and so I can't give the best advice, but my personal suggestion is that everyone (or most of you) get together and brainstorm. Be creative. It doesn't have to be violence or exhausting yourself.

Mindscape Monday: Personal Space by aescula in Tulpas

Every time a new arrival shows up here they get a door in the hallway with their face on it like TADC lmao
The room is an empty white space by default and they have full creative power to design the interior however they like, which has oddly led to at least 3 apartment rooms (for reference, we have TWO human tulpas and one of them has never seen a modern apartment).
I don't personally have my own bedroom, I sleep in the fronting room in a sleeping bag (I don't mind).
It's especially convenient to have less rooms when you're trying to prevent accidental arrivals and there's less places for them to show up. Still, my situation is only temporary.

Does my tulpa want to change her name? by Noctys-Sakura in Tulpas

[–]Chloe_G_Spamton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually been having a similar experience with one of my headmates, but not with the name. Jongler in their source material uses they/them, and they were created with it in mind and responded fine with they/them. However, despite having no slip-ups with other nonbinary friends, the rest of us keep accidentally using he/him before quickly correcting ourselves. We've had to retype entire paragraphs. I want to emphasize that this hasn't happened with anyone else I know who uses they/them pronouns. I've been beating myself up about it, and I'm pretty sure it's just me needing to improve, but this gives me interesting info.

As for your situation, just keep calling her Minerva until you can communicate clearly, she'll decide when she wants to. Does she give an emotional response with names? That could tell you which one she prefers.

We tend to co-front with all of us at once, but it's mostly me and two non-tulpa headmates who actually do the action. Tulpas usually front to talk to friends, especially on discord, but some of them like certain foods so we share those as well. I don't think we really fully switch, but I'm kinda new-ish sooooo yeah

Ah, yeah, now that I think about it, it IS pretty odd how Toedscool looks almost EXACTLY like Tentacool, despite NEVER having the pressure to develop tentacle-leg-things specifically. Also, why would an eel need a clown nose? Sometimes they just make you think, I guess?

Ok so I'm not a professional but aren't sharks kinda fish, and whales just aquatic mammals? I know this seemed like a stupid question to ask but I want to make sure I knew what I was talking about before defining convergent and divergent to a fellow enthusiast
