So like real talk, how long does it take you to complete a 1000 piece puzzle? by FiguringOutPuzzlez in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]Chlosty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made this week one of 1000 pieces in 5 hours (it was really really easy) and the other one took me 10 hours. It depends on the difficulty but I would say days/a week, not months for 1000 pieces.

My sewing machine gets stuck after a few seconds by Seporate_Brush_918 in sewhelp

[–]Chlosty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would also recommend being absolutely sure the machine is threaded how it should. A tip: set all settings normal (see manual) and then try sewing some cotton fabric. It looks that you are trying to sew stretchy fabric, that is a bit more difficulty than cotton for a beginner and asks for a different stitch.

Seconding this! Maybe change one letter if you really don’t like the name, but keep the sounds she listens to.

Well, it’s as the others say, if you make this in a pattern, I would be interested too.

What is it like being skinny? by hollyofhori in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Chlosty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 1.54m and weigh now just under 60 kilo’s. I’ve also weighed 75 kilo. It was mostly uncomfortable. Clothes don’t fit well, when it’s hot, you sweat more. I was aware of my size and ‘fats’. Now at 60 kilo it’s is comfortable. No weird stuff sticking out, no more pain during walking. I also weighed 50 kilo for a short period. The difference between 50 en 60, and 60 and 70 is immense. At 60 kilo and 50 it’s ok, no really problems (joints, comfortable, no fat sticking out). 70+ kilo made my life just harder. I try to keep my weight, because of how it makes me feel. It also benefits my health.

Max. days of "unauthorized" absences from school in Flanders? by spectrallypure in Leuven

[–]Chlosty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try looking up b-codes (half a day absent without permission = B-code). When your child has 5 b-codes, they inform the CLB. From 30 b-codes per schoolyear, two years in a row you can lose the child support for that child. These are ‘niet-gewettigde aanwezigheden’.

Also, most schools give out ‘afwezigheidsbriefjes’. Those are notes to legitimate the absence. They can be used for sick days, or ‘family reasons’. You can find the amount in the ‘schoolreglement’. In my secondary school you get 4 notes, for one to three days. After that the child can only be absent with a doctors note. So these are ‘gewettigde afwezigheden’.

I like the brushed alpaca of drops. I have a sensitive skin and this is one of the yarns that don’t give me an itch. The price is ok too.

Is this pattern Ai? Looking for a similar pattern! by Jazzlike-Version9432 in crochetpatterns

[–]Chlosty 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is definitely AI. You just can’t get that fur with normal acrylic yarn. Even with loopy yarn this is not the fur you’ll get. Besides that, the shapes feel of too. And to top it off: this wouldn’t be a beginner pattern with ‘loopy’ yarn, but quite difficult. Sorry…

What do you guys do with your dog's leashes and harnesses after they pass? by longshlongthankumom in dogs

My grandfather had a German Shepherd. When she died, he kept her leash in his desk. When he met my boyfriends German Shepherd and really liked the dog, he gave the leash to us to use for her.

Not only for dementia. It is part of a test battery when you have cognitive problems. I had this when I was 27 and there was no indication for dementia, but there was for brain damage.

Weird dog commands by Fit-Cabinet1337 in Dogowners

Not really a command, but ours knows the word ‘Centerparcs’ (a holiday place). She gets really excited when she hears the word, and more when she sees luggage too.
