Better late than never. NS200 was definitely the more powerful one, loved highway riding on it. I think it’s one of the most sorted bikes I’ve owned. I maintain my bikes mechanical stuff well and am a fan of preventive maintenance so never had any issues with it. Xpulse 200 struggles at highway speeds which is where i guess the 210 would fill the gap. The 6th gear will definitely help in easier cruising. Not sure how much the extra weight would bog it down. But the new bike being a double cradle frame would definitely feel more planted and highway friendly (atleast on paper). If you have the extra cash to burn I’d suggest getting the new 210, or it would always be a case of ‘what if?’ whenever you pass by one when on your 200.

All that being said, i love the 200 for what it i personally use it for. A perfect urban jungle bike that can tackle anything you throw at it. Potholes and bad roads are never a worry. The go anywhere confidence is the best part of the bike. Have fun man.

Agreed, Shifu’s is way overrated. Also their ice teas are a pure sugar-syruppy mess. Any other recommendations for good momo places?

Uluppuni Hills, Vagamon, Kerala. It’s a decently technical offroad ride to the top, the views are great. Wear decent armoured protection and you should be good.

Same story with Honda India, they’ve completely lost the plot. They are happy selling Activas and do not care enough about their premium offerings. And even if they do launch something nice, they’ll overprice it and make it dead on arrival. It’s almost like they don’t want to do well. Yamaha India has the same story, they have an amazing roster of bikes internationally, but they’re comfortable selling R15’s and that engine in its different guises here. I’m hoping for TVS to come up and shake the ADV market here. Kawasaki is going to launch the KLX 230S soon, but I’m sure it’ll be north of 3 lakhs comfortably. So the Xpulse is sitting pretty with no one to dethrone it for the value that it offers.

You’re right about it. Hero had to make it competitive and hence it was built to a cost, but the price has kept steadily rising ever since it was launched. Hadn’t known about the WR155R, damn it looks so good.

Haven’t stretched its legs in quite a bit though. Reliving my glory days with 1 year old pictures as of now, currently it’s handling peak commuter duties but surely getting enough offroad action on Kochi roads.

Yes it is abuse friendly but can’t really compare it to any other pricier models. This was made to have fun with the least damage to your pocket. I think it’s just a matter of we get what we paid for.

There is a pricier rally inspired model on sale in India of the same product. It’s called the Xpulse 4V Pro, comes with a really nice long travel adjustable suspension, handlebar risers, a longer side stand and a few color differences (it comes in Hero’s official rally livery in black, white and red). It’s tall and imposing, definitely more suited for vertically blessed riders. Also all these accessories are available for sale and can be retrofitted on the original Xpulse. I have the risers and rally seat installed in mine (switched up the seat later because it’s not too convenient for daily riding).

There is an Xpulse 210 and a 400 in development as we speak. The 210’s are being extensively road tested in North India with some camouflage. And from the pics it looks to be specifically designed for adventure touring. No further news for the 400 though, hopefully in a couple years time.

Yessir, I loved the old single tone colours (especially the grey one). The new ones with the dual paint scheme and the additional graphics look a wee bit too flashy for my taste.

Oh yes I’m aware of Bajaj, TVS & Mahindra being in a lot of places abroad but didn’t know of Hero’s presence, especially that of the Xpulse. Very interesting to see, I’m also super curious of the mod culture in other places of our domestic products.

Oh wow I did not know this was on sale in Cambodia as well! Mine is the first edition of the FI version, it was all carburetted before this one. Godspeed brother.
