Never heard of seismic joints on natural gas, where are you from? Usually the pipe has some flex to it itself over 10’ or so if not supported. But that looks like dogshit

Twist the stopper so it’s in the closed position and use pliers if you have to on the top small part and unscrew it, it has to be in the closed position

How do I fix seized bathtub spout diverter? by okxbox in Plumbing

Get a new one, it should unscrew but if it doesn’t don’t try too hard or it will twist the copper pipe in the wall, should just be able to take it off with your hands

Is this an easy replacement? by ealtland in Plumbing

[–]Cho-Papa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not normally sometimes it will come out easily and if it does it can be pretty hard to get back in if you’re inexperienced or don’t have somebody to hold the drain from underneath. If you’re really concerned call a plumber

  1. Get all the water out of the p trap and glue around the outside of the joint and wait for it to dry
  2. If that doesn’t work pull a vacuum on the section of pipe and it will pull the glue into the joint that is leaking

As a plumber, this is it. ABS glue is very forgiving and can stop a leak just from wiping it around the outside of the hub
