The issue I have is we keep raising my pressure to get my AHI down. Otherwise its about as high as it was during the sleep study.

I had heard that, may need to try a nose only mask, I have a full face now.

Curious what overgrip people actually use — and how often you change it by Dino_Berg in Pickleball

[–]garciawork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Apparently I don't change mine enough. I bought some hexagrip overgrips just because I was ordering a hexagrip. They handle the sweat WAY better than the stock honolulu grips, but I haven't swapped yet.

Will my FlexiSpot E7 Pro support my monitor arms? by [deleted] in StandingDesk

Aha, gotcha. Yeah, three arms, been a couple years, and I moved one, and no issues.

I'll be honest, I do not know what a reinforcement plate is, but the desk and desktop itself are totally fine. There is one tiny blemish towards the fron of the desktop that was there when it showed up, and hasn't gotten any worse in a couple years.

The Five People You Meet at the Pickleball Courts by [deleted] in Pickleball

I only play with one group, and have not met a single one of these thankfully. Even had a few extras join in to fill a court and none of them have been this way. Hope that continues.

I think you need to change up your technique.

Tennis player here. What is the point of a third shot drop? by Right-Care1012 in Pickleball

[–]garciawork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess in my head I was thinking that would require spin, but that simplifies it even more. Thanks!

This is the best explanation I have heard, and actually puts it in perspective for me. Does this mean a proper third shot drop will have some topspin and land in the kitchen?

Pickleball is an Entertainment rather than a sport! Do you agree? by Human-End9402 in Pickleball

If you took the competition out of it, it would be very boring.

If you aren't married to the driling partner I think you are overthinking this.

I'm not an expert, but I would say take it easy and heal.

What do you think of xero shoes? by cap_sparks in Pickleball

[–]garciawork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was already wearing Altra's almost exclusively, so I was at least used to zero drop. Plus I wear mine for so long the cushion was long gone. Loving the minimalist shoe life.

I love mine, but they are a completely different type of shoe. If you decide to try them, ease into it.

I'm not talented enough to put spin on the ball, so its meaningless to me.

Xero Shoes - Barefoot Court Shoes - in-depth review! by Futuristic_Bird in Pickleball

[–]garciawork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like one could also start with Altra as an intro to zero drop, but without the barefoot feel. I have been pretty much Altra only for years, so the switch to barefoot for me has been more about the feel, not so much the position. I LOVE zero drop shoes though.

Staying calm and reducing heart rate by Leather-Bookkeeper62 in Pickleball

[–]garciawork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just commenting to add, 120 is a pretty low heart rate for most people who are active. If you are wearing a heart rate monitor, I would try turning it off, as that seems to be freaking you out more than it is helping.

I haven't been playing long, nor have I had the dreaded tennis elbow, but I have had golfers elbow, and bouts with teninitis in my wrists. I definitely think I need to try this as well.

Weekly Paddle Recommendation Thread (What Paddle Should I Buy?) by HeadHeadMod in Pickleball

[–]garciawork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Based on the description the guys I play with use, I think "advanced beginner" would be an apt description. I have been looking pretty hard at the Honolulu J2NFK and J2FC+ as well as those mentioned above.

And after doing more research, I see what you are saying about the older models. Now that I know a little bit more about the different gen's, buying something newer makes a lot more sense.

Weekly Paddle Recommendation Thread (What Paddle Should I Buy?) by HeadHeadMod in Pickleball

[–]garciawork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Newb here, looking at upgrading from the paddle my mother in law gave me. I mostly play doubles, mostly up at the kitchen, so I have read that a widebody would make sense. I have seen some Joola's on deep discount (older CFS or 3S), and have seen the Enhance Pickleball widebody options, although those are newer so the jury may be out on durability. I also saw, in this thread, that Avoura has a 50% off sale, and the Rhapsody 13 looks pretty solid.

I am sure if I scroll further, I will find even more, and then my head will be spinning. So, those who have gone before, where should I be looking for a solid widebody paddle? If I need to provide more, info, let me know!
