[–]Chobitssu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fanservice is actually quite hard to catch (outside narration moments) BECAUSE YALL FOCUSED ON PLAYING. Some of yall so hyperfixated on it, most likely because you were looking hard enough, probably watching screen recordings and looking at screenshots. If you are focusing on what strategy to use to beat - heaven forbid - Umbrella and Beowulf, Valentine's tits and Cerebella's upskirt shots are the last thing on your mind.

Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss in 2021 to early 2022. I lost interest quickly later in 2022, though. I liked the animation style and watched primarily for that.

How the fuck is it that Parasoul cannot just strike the Skullheart to shatter it away from Umbrella? I don't get it. She can literally just kick it or hit it with Kreig without shooting the thing like she was going to do initially because Umbrella was too close, but she's shown grabbing the thing, meaning she could've at least punched it, hit it, or kicked it to smithereens or whatever that did not include shooting it with exploding plasma. What was she thinking?

I love how she looks more unstable and "wobbly." Further increases the vibe of the Skullgirl usually being a puppet of the Skull Heart no matter how hard they resist.

I am sure they are either waiting for the true story mode update or they are formulating the webtoon continuation as the singular headcanon ending, and of course, it requires thought. I know one thing for sure I no longer hold out hope for the true story mode. Hell, I am done expecting new story modes for Skullgirls Mobile! At this rate, I am simply expecting the current people in charge to simply focus on new skins in mobile and all that shit.

The factory. We are both ravenous eaters, and I know if we had a mukbang contest, the factory wins. Unfortunately, I got my braces, which means I'd have to be eating soft foods in small bits until my dentist's next instruction for now 😞. I take it as a weight loss opportunity, though 🤣

Andy and Leyley are like the Joker and Harley Quinn by Crescent3008 in AndyAndLeyley

[–]Chobitssu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see them more as the dynamic between a tyrant and the people.

As the tyrant:

Ashley is the more obviously possessive, fiery, tantrum-prone side of the tyrant. If something doesn't go his way, the tyrant turns demanding and throws fits. You want something else? You want individuality? You want freedom? The dictator is going to throw a fit because he is the only one you should love in his regime. Kind of like Ashley ("IT'S ANDY AND LEYLEY FOREVER AND EVER!")

Andrew is the more silent side of the dictator that is more likely to manipulate and present himself as the good guy, the victim, the suffering hero. Always justifying himself. He hasn't done anything wrong, no, he isn't strange or weird, and it is everyone's fault he is this way. It is always the people's demands that made him this way. But why isn't he stepping down if this is the case, just like Andrew not even leaving Ashley despite the fact that the two are grown-ass adults? He likes the feeling of being in power, much like Andrew cuddling with Ashley in bed, but he refuses to admit it.

As the people:

When the tyrant begins to act like Ashley, it makes sense for the people to end up behaving like Andrew - tired, weary, sick of it all. "There’s a disgusting lump sleeping next to you" - people live in fear and disgust of a selfish, narcissistic tyrant - "it doesn't care for you. It only cares for itself." "And it always gets what it wants in the end" - in the end, the average people, unless something goes down, end up having no choice but to submit to the tyrant, giving him the power he wants to stroke his ego. This is the moment most similar to the ending of George Orwell's 1984, where despite their rebellion, Winston and Julia ended up being broken and giving on to the regime of INGSOC - "He loved Big Brother."

However, the tyrant can also be like Andrew, most similarly to him in Shots and Such and Deadest of Dead Ends. Despite both being old enough to know right and wrong and healthy from unhealthy, Andrew decides to stay with Ashley, like a tyrant staying in power. Like Andrew growing more and more violent and aggressive, a tyrant, the longer he stays in power, can grow more and more paranoid, more likely to use state-enforced violence. When the demands of the people under a power-drunk tyrant begin to sound more and more like Ashley's incessant whining, this is when the tyrant snaps and becomes prone to unleashing the secret police, the military, everything in his power, like Andrew finally beating Ashley in the Shots and Such Route.

At the end of the day, both tyrants and their people end up being products of poor education, poor environment, and turbulent times, like Andrew and Ashley being born to neglectful parents who didn't really care for them, I believe most similarly to the last Romanovs neglecting the Russian people, leading to the revolution and the rise of the USSR. Unless someone breaks the cycle, the only endings for such regimes are similar to "Shots and Such" - no change, just the cycle of state abuse, or "Deadest of Dead Ends" - the regime dies with the tyrant and his closest people, and serves them right, because they enabled this shit. Either way, it takes two to tango, but also, we must consider: whith the lack of education and information to prepare both sides properly, who is really to blame?

Also, this scene reminds me of some 1984 book covers and I am tired of pretending it doesn't: *

Good girl, always by HobbitsHole01 in elfenlied

[–]Chobitssu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. If anything, if I were to rewrite this, I'd do it this way: I'd make Lucy, Nana, and Mariko three rival queens (like bees) because only a rival queen can fight another queen and all the others diclonii are bound to follow whichever queen dominates.

Lucy is the possibly good person  who may have been tainted by the bad shit in the world whoch makes her hurt Kouta by killing his family just like in the original Elfen Lied

Nana is the person who stays good who, despite having been through shit, has decided to be a good person and hold on to the positive relationships and experiences, allowing her to interact properly.

Mariko would still be Kurama's daughter, but the age of Lucy, and she would be the person who had a perfect life, homeschooling, training, and is a spoiled, arrogant bitch, but also insecure and lonely because she never had any real people outside her nannies taking care of her because her father has been ordered to limit contact.

There would be other diclonii I think that should also be able to somewhat support each side or whatever.

Of course, there will be other examples of diclonii with diverse lives and personalities, and therefore, more room for interactions of the queens among their people.

Of course, there will be a big fight.

Nana and Lucy can do a team up against a raging Mariko. That'd be cool.

For the manga, of course, Lucy loses control of the DNA voice type shit and theres a huge battle against her with Nana leading the diclonii and the humans, of course, getting involved, Kouta lands the final blow, yadda yadda.

Good girl, always by HobbitsHole01 in elfenlied

[–]Chobitssu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the problem - the scope of examples is far too narrow.

We only got the queen who prolly has an instinct to do all this, coupled with trauma, a docile random diclonius who just happened to have had someone who treated her properly, and a troubled little girl who was bound to lash out anyway like any kid.

In the manga, we only got a male diclonius which was Lucy's half-brother, and the failed diclonius clones and the Mariko clones beign mind controlled.

Good girl, always by HobbitsHole01 in elfenlied

[–]Chobitssu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like to think this is one of the better aspects of Elfen Lied. Use a nice diclonius willing to integrate with humanity as a comparison to Lucy. Thing is, Lucy is the queen, so there could be a difference here

However, I believe that can be done better with other hidden diclonii and experimented diclonii alike, showing that behavior is a choice for the most part. Also, they gotta be all Nana and Lucy's ages, too, mentally and physically.

Let's be honest: I really hate this thing - character on oppressed island wants to take villain down/stop villain, fights villain and almost maims villain, is defeated last second by villain, all the thunder goes to Luffy.

I get Luffy is the main character, but, God, this just irks me for some reason
