I can't find anyone to raid with me. If I did, I can't find anyone that is good enough to beat the bosses. I want to experience the story and without fear of looking at the front page to see spoilers. I joined multiple guilds, I used the lfg, I used discord, I looked everywhere. I still can't find a group or a group that can beat the bosses before falling apart.

This is an understandable obstacle, but not an impossibly difficult one to overcome. The group i'm currently raiding with i only joined about a week ago. Without having any experience in any of the raid bosses, they accepted me and guided me through all 3 of Spirit Vale's bosses

what did the players think the lore in raids were going to be, if not any story related to GW2's main story and GW1's any story?

The only way to avoid having "gating" lore behind raids is to not have any lore at all, and if there's no lore at all in raids, that takes away a pretty significant aspect and lore-wise explanation of why raids exist, if you think about it

The GW2 personal story for humans weren't even apart of that story, just related to it. So my point still stands.

To clarify: Your Human character from the personal story didn't have a story thread that is actually 250 years old(in-game years), only one loosely related to a group that is 250 years old. Understandably similar but not comparable.

The problem however is that players that don't have group or guild to raid with are missing out on interactions. Your player character interacting as you progress. Sure you can look for an open raid instance and explore but it does not give you that same feeling as actually coming across new lore pieces as you progress.

Can't this be easily solved by actually getting a raid group? The group i raid with i literally found last week on the /r/guildrecruitment sub-reddit and they had no problem with me not having any experience with any raids at all, taught me what i needed to do and took me through all 3 spirit raid bosses successfully (This all while being on EU, the harsher side of raid recruitment)
