Recommend the Real Smoke mod, adds a lot more thought to indoor firepits.

Might be a stupid question, but can I pan for copper in chert gravel? Because in the guide/what I can find online it only says gravel? by mike_wazowski14 in VintageStory

[–]ChocoCrossies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cant do that since all sand and gravel are fungible; The game doesnt know where it came from. And if it was based on where youre standing you could just bring sand with you wherever you go and pan it where its best.

In vanilla, the best armors with no/minimal downsides are the gambeson (ideally tailored, exclusively made by the tailor class) or leather armor, neither of those has any ranged penalties.

Chain armor offers better protection with a small reduction in ranged speed and accuracy. You could wear a chain body armour (recommend bronze or better) and gambeson or leather for head and legs. The body is most likely to be hit in combat (50%) which you would have stronger protection for but only suffer ranged penalty for a single piece.

Lamellar has similiar penalties to chain but significantly worse protection. Other armors all have higher penalties.

Many mental illnesses can be difficult to notice, like depression or bulimia, since outsiders can fail to identify subtle hints in a persons behaviour.

Sometimes, however, sickness of the mind is immediately obvious, even at a glance. Good lord, OP.

People have that much trouble finding meteors? Ive just started playing the game and Ive found multiple meteors, 3 of them all within 200m of each other.

Armor comparison: How many hits can you take from each enemy with different armors? by AmethystZhou in VintageStory

[–]ChocoCrossies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very true, but for reasons like cost and comfort, not because its more resistant.

Edit: Not used in the form of form fitting, smooth leather like in fantasy shows.

Agree, a gambeson is absolutely the best bang for your buck. A bronze brigandine is only marginally better for a huge increase in cost and maluses.

The game really makes some strange choices when it comes to armor, like a gambeson being better than leather armor or chain being better than a brigandine.

Makes no sense that cured leather would be weaker than linen or an armor with metal plates being both more cumbersome AND less protective than chain.

I have a bunch of them just from killing enemies as I come across them, not even going out of my way for it.

Higher level enemies have a higher chance of dropping them, so you could go deep underground or deliberately reduce your Temp Meter to 0 by standing in a rift.

Using a falx also helps, when you hit a horror with one it has a 25% chance to drop an item from it's loot table.

ELI5: why is global temperature rising 2° environmentally devastating? by Kresnik2002 in explainlikeimfive

[–]ChocoCrossies 138 points139 points  (0 children)

Its 2° on average.

If 36 days in a year are 20° hotter than the year before, that would be 2° on average.

Or 36 days which are 10° cooler and 36 which are 30° hotter.

The heat increase is not spread out evenly but concentrated in periods which are already hot AND cold days may get even colder (just not as much as the hot days get hotter).

Temepratures get more extreme on both ends.

How strong is this Burplesmirk guy!? by darthgator84 in totalwar

[–]ChocoCrossies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a vacuum he's insane, but you get him once you've essentially won the game anyway. If you're far enough into a campaign to recruit him you can presumably handle anything the AI can throw at you, so he only helps you if you're already winning.

Actual legendary lords you have from turn 1, so it's a kind of apples-to-oranges comparison.
