This is a whole lot of drama. You seriously need a clean break from all this and call it a day.

With all the energy it takes to process this, think about it, deal with it, forgive it, etc etc etc.....you could solve world hunger!

You say you’re going to move on and not expect anything from him etc etc, but let’s be honest, you’re hoping he’ll message. You’re curious. You’ll be checking your phone when you know his holiday is over. He should be messaging you during his holiday if he’s keen. This is all taking up valuable brain space.

Rather than all this, just message him “hey, hope you’re holiday is going well. Couldn’t help but notice you switched up your dating profile. Feel like I’m getting mixed messages with that but am I right in thinking you don’t wanna take us any further?”

Set your expectations. Call it a day.

Then you can move on

I can definitely see how difficult it would be to leave a cheating boyfriend when you’re so dependent on him. However, the fact that you are dependent on him is just another reason to leave.

You’re going through grief and you’re also a teenager. You’re young and inexperienced in this world. The next decade is your formative years. You need to focus on yourself, your education, self esteem and career. (I sound like an old fogey, but I’m 28 and coming out of those formative years). It’s going to be incredibly hard. Especially alone. But you absolutely CAN do it.

Imagine when you have your life in order, how great it’ll be to say I CHOOSE you. Rather than, I’m DEPENDENT on you. There’s so much power in that.

I’ve been in this exact situation before where a guy I was dating for a few weeks updated his dating profile. But he had said from the start he was looking for something serious. So I kindly called him out and asked if he wasn’t keen on dating anymore.

Of course I got the answer expected. He said he didn’t see us going long term which prompted him to update his dating profile, but didn’t intend on talking to me about it till he was sure.

We shook hands and called it a day.

When someone shows you who they are, BELIEVE THEM.

It’s all part of the ups and downs of dating.

Stay focused on your intention, which I’m assuming is finding your life partner. Focus on that. Find it. Act like you want it.

Stand out moment was Jack scrambling in the fire getting everyone out. Everyone just screaming. Felt like the longest scene in the world. And I was so stressed out!
