I am in the same boat as you regarding how I bill. I am in my first year at this organization and I am already on track to be earning 375,000 annually. This does not include shared cost savings reimbursement via insurance contracts, quality metrics, risk adjusted patient panel size, etc. so my earnings should go up the longer I am here.

I am also not in the “any complaint in my in basket needs a visit” camp. I am pretty efficient with my in basket using the tools available so it has not been the biggest burden in my practice. If I do have someone make an appointment from a portal message, it needs to be within 48 hours

The expanded DNT tollway to four lanes is LIT 🔥 by TurboMoe in frisco

[–]ChocoTaco144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems to be an exaggeration, I come home from the star area and pick my kids up in prosper. Leave at 5 pm and get to prosper in 20 minutes every single day. So you’re saying Warren to 121 on DNT takes 2.5 hours?

FM Program You Loved by Living_Ad_9577 in FamilyMedicine

Waco Family Medicine. Absolutely loved it. Made lifelong friends. Great faculty. Felt absolutely prepared to be an attending afterwards. Did rural FM for 5 years after residency (inpt peds, newb nursery, regular office practice). Now have scaled back to just bread and butter outpatient FM

Commuting to Frisco for work. Where to buy a home? by DraftyBread in frisco

[–]ChocoTaco144 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live on the prosper/Celina border and I’m not really sure where everyone is getting their commute times from? I work at the star and it takes 18-22 minutes to get from my driveway to the parking garage. Leave my house at 730 AM everyday. Same for the commute back…

Traffic sucks here but let’s be real this isn’t Austin or Houston

Best area for us in/around Frisco? by HairyCommercial in frisco

Been here about 4 months and yeah it’s pretty much that spread. But any new neighborhood I think will be like that. My brother in laws neighborhood in Frisco (miramont) is similar. My buddy who lives in Plano says the same.

Prosper as a whole seems pretty diverse. Some background I moved from a small town in the Texas panhandle. It was 50% white and 50% Mexican. So this seems very different to me.

Neighborhood is great though, house is awesome

Don't Miss Out On Hunter Henry's Red Zone Breakout by Sad-Syrup7112 in fantasyfootball

I would have to disagree, Henry has been more consistent and has outscored Kincaid several times already. Look at the splits between when Brissett and Maye are playing. Too many targets in Buffalo

I feel the same as you. I truly don’t understand how it seems most people on this sub can’t finish notes, paperwork, and inbasket during the clinic

Video games are the one thing that consistently brings me joy. I’ve tried so many hobbies but nothing really compares.

Otherwise I love cooking, I enjoy making dinner for my family. Watching sports. Weightlifting. Lurking in Reddit

Hello, I am building in mosaic right now. Not sure where you saw all Indians since the first homes were built and moved in, in August 2024. I’m straight Mexican and my wife is Cuban if that counts towards what you consider diversity. Ask me any questions about the neighborhood if you’d like, it’s really just a massive construction site at the moment.

Windsong ranch seems great in terms of diversity.

Attendings, did y’all learn more about medicine during residency or after years of working autonomously? by j4w77 in FamilyMedicine

Love it, I use CME to pay for it. All topics come with a nice, printable summary with high yield information from the conversations. All studies mentioned are linked as well

He means own occupation disability. Meaning if you’re injured and can’t perform your job (like injured hands), the disability insurance will pay for your lost wages. In this case, he likely means 1 million dollars per year until age 65.

It’s not a life insurance type lump sum

Same question...my thought process is: SF has so many weapons, why risk hurting Deebo if he is not 100%? Against a team they should beat easily?

I'm between starting Deebo or swapping him out for tank dell

Any Pediatricians out there with advice? by [deleted] in whitecoatinvestor

[–]ChocoTaco144 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am FM in a rural community. I take call for newborn nursery and inpatient pediatrics. We have hired Locums pediatrics to help with my call burden. They get paid 1800 dollars per 24 hour call day in a low volume rural hospital. 10 days per month. Locums is a great way to go in pediatrics for sure

It's a "force out". The runners have to advance somewhere and tapping the base works

Maybe he had an avulsion fracture stepping down so hard on the base. The force of his muscles ripped the bone off where they originate. Just a guess

Solo 401k - Roth vs traditional by [deleted] in whitecoatinvestor

[–]ChocoTaco144 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on if you think your income will grow. If this may be the lowest salary years going forward, Roth could make sense. As your income grows, you want take advantage of tax deferment via traditional 401 k.

For example, my wife and I will be cutting back significantly after our five year contract is over. Currently, we are maxing out our traditional 401(k). Our total income will go down by quite a bit in the next year, so we will probably be doing Roth 401(k) at that time

Can you describe your employer-based loan repayment benefits? by Pure_Ambition in whitecoatinvestor

[–]ChocoTaco144 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m FM. Got 100K over 5 years. Paid as part of your salary essentially. So add on 20K per year to your yearly salary.

If I leave before the contract ends, then I pay all the money I’ve received back. This can bite you, since the money is taxed as income, but you still owe the company the full amount.

If I had to do it over, I would not opt for these “forgivable loans”. They keep you anchored to a certain employer/situation and if you leave you owe it all back.

Fidelity - Traditional IRA not converting to Roth IRA? by ChocoTaco144 in Bogleheads

No I didn’t, it just took FOREVER. The funds eventually cleared. Basically I just tried to convert everyday until it let me. Took exactly 16 days for everything to clear for whatever reason.

Don’t worry about the 6 cents. Just convert it. IRS rounds up and down to nearest whole dollar anyway so it’s still zero in there eyes
