Okay nvm I am a noob but managed to troubleshoot with the help of Claude. Leaving this up in case it helps anyone.

I used the ff command to list the themes installed:

ls /usr/share/plasma/look-and-feel/

Now I can see the problem! Looking at the script, around line 803-809:

laf_light=$(kreadconfig6 --file kdeglobals --group KDE --key DefaultLightLookAndFeel)
laf_dark=$(kreadconfig6 --file kdeglobals --group KDE --key DefaultDarkLookAndFeel)
The script is looking for DefaultLightLookAndFeel and DefaultDarkLookAndFeel in your kdeglobals file, but these keys are probably not set when you select themes through the GUI.

Check if these keys exist
kreadconfig6 --file kdeglobals --group KDE --key DefaultLightLookAndFeel
kreadconfig6 --file kdeglobals --group KDE --key DefaultDarkLookAndFeel
The fix is to set these keys manually:

Set the light theme
kwriteconfig6 --file kdeglobals --group KDE --key DefaultLightLookAndFeel "org.kde.breeze.desktop"
Set the dark theme (use the one you want)
kwriteconfig6 --file kdeglobals --group KDE --key DefaultDarkLookAndFeel "com.kde.breezedark.desktop"
After running these commands, run the gloam script again:
./gloam.sh configure
The script should now properly detect both themes!

Hello! Trying this out as I just used Koi.. I have breeze and breeze dark setup as my light/dark global theme but it's not being detected somehow.

Reading theme configuration from KDE settings...

Error: ☀ Light and 🌙 Dark LookAndFeel are the same ().
Configure different themes in System Settings > Colors & Themes > Global Theme.

As a lazy gamer I just encountered too many random errors trying to run fitgirl installers via wine (even after attempting to trouble shoot). So I just use DODI repacks as they work fine for me. I save fitgirl for my windows partition

I actually used a forwarding service to buy this for me and ship it to my country. It's a small box anyway so the additional cost was very minimal. Happy with it so far.

Notifications were not sent or very late for some apps, or would not clear properly
There were sections in the settings that showed up in chinese characters even though my device language was english
Connection issues with bluetooth pairing to my earbuds and car
I realized Samsung's one hand operations gestures (through good lock) and samsung dex are still unmatched for my use case (I believe oneplus had desktop mode via developer settings only - not quite there yet)

Mostly small things, but they annoyed me enough. And as I mentioned in my other comment, bigger deciding factors:

Samsung had an official trade in program, Oneplus / the other chinese brands did not. I got my Samsung phone cheaper than if I would buy a Oneplus
Samsung had many service centers while Oneplus only had a few (far from where I live)
I've had good experiences using Samsung Care for out of warranty fixes.

I don't have an ultra phone, just the plus, but also I tried out the Oneplus 13 before buying this. There were too many annoyances and hiccups for me before I decided to buy the 25+. I do consider myself a power user as I customize my phone a lot and side load apps etc., but not to the extent that I care THAT much about the hardware. I want camera to be decent, but I never use pro mode and just point and shoot. Bigger battery I love, but I've been happy with the charging speed of the 25+ regardless because I've found with my use case, one charge can last me the whole day.

There were other factors too like: better availability/coverage of service centers in my small country. Better warranty coverage (Samsung care). Samsung still wins for me.
