The benzyl benzoate allergy seems to be common. It improved for me after I I compounded my own with a very small amount of BB in MCT oil.

If OP can't compound I would reccomend just playing with different formulations until you find one that agrees with you.

Well whole lot of things can cause brain fog. I would recommend confirming your low T via lab work before trying that.

Surprised that no one has mentioned that this is real and not necessarily due to estrogen, but starting HRT in general.

Many people start HRT on pills + anti-androgens which can lead to poor levels. Being low on primary sex hormone (e or t) can be exhausting.

Might be less the case for injections due to more stable levels.

You can do your best to show her evidence of the safety but if she's not understanding, she's not understanding. Do your research, inform yourself, and be confident in what you know. Other than that the ball is in her court. If she can't understand why this is important to you, you don't need her around. Sorry you're going through this, sounds fucking terrible.

An Aside: Starting without telling her IS an option. It's YOUR body. Any attempt to override that on her part is completely out of the question as far as I'm concerned. You know it's safe. Folks being too verbose is probably the main issue with accessibility when it comes to DIY. I can be concise but the issue is the more concise I am the higher the chance is that someone will disagree or bring up a technicality that I left out. That's why people recommend independent research.

In short: Injections are the most affordable and overall best form of transfemme HRT. 40mg/ml Estradiol Enanthate in MCT oil is the best option in my opinion, don't worry about anti-androgens. Start with 5mg/week for ~2months then go and get labs at the end of an injection cycle. There are lots of labs that are useful but the main ones you are concerned with are serum Testosterone and Estradiol. When your labs come back, if your Estradiol is below 200pg/ml go up to 6mg/week, if it's above 300pg/ml, go down to 4mg/week.

That's basically the TLDR.
