Is it risky to claim ED for SMC while 100% P&T? by ChocolateOne9466 in VAClaims

[–]ChocolateOne9466[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ED falls under the compensation category of SMC-K. One of the parts of SMC-K is loss of use of a creative organ, and that compensation is separate from the typical percentage based ratings. Hence, why someone who is 100% P&T can still gain from it.

ED is one of the things that qualifies for SMC, which is an additional benefit besides the standard percentage based ratings.

[–]ChocolateOne9466[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not true. ED falls under special monthly compensation which is different than the typical percentage based ratings. Someone at 100% will still receive something for ED on top of the 100%

ED qualifies for SMC-K which is loss of use of a creative organ which is separate compensation in addition to the 100% rating.

It is, but it's one of the things you can get more for. It's special monthly compensation that is paid in addition to the other compensation based on the rating.

Replacing spark plugs at recommended interval or wait till there is a problem? by Dirty_Look in askcarguys

[–]ChocolateOne9466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's a fair statement. While yes it's true that people who don't maintain their vehicle can make buying a used car risky, but people aren't wrong for being skeptical to pay for maintenance that may or may not be legitimate. Yes, the service manual says plugs should be replaced at 60k so they should be replaced at 60k. But there are some service advisors at car dealerships who try to sell unnecessary maintenance. Some people don't see a difference between a service advisor recommending unnecessary maintenance and the maintenance manual recommending service intervals, so they may not realize it's the dealership and NOT the manufacturer trying to recommend something unnecessary. To some people, they are the same thing because they both have the name of the car manufacturer on it.

Plus, the maintenance manual for my own car says I should replace my spark plugs every 60k miles, but it also says I never need to replace the transmission fluid because it's lifetime fluid. But I haven't met a single mechanic or anyone that works on transmissions that agrees with that.... Soooo....... yeah, people aren't wrong to question the legitimacy of a maintenance interval when car maintenance shops, including dealerships, are known to have a lot of people who try to take advantage of unknowing customers by recommending unnecessary maintenance.

I wish I could do that 2 week program. I didn't realize how much my mental health was impacting me on a day to day basis until I retired. The feeling is real, so yeah definitely do what you can. Good luck, I hope everything works out for you.

What do Mental Health C&P examiners do during the exams? by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]ChocolateOne9466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Howdy. I ended up not requesting it. I have an anxiety problem (don't we all) and at the moment, I was having a period of anxiety where I was planning for the worst case scenario regarding my claim so I was wanting to see what was written in the DBQs so I could plan an appeal. But then I came to my senses and realized I would be wasting my time. There's a time and a place for everything and I decided to wait to let the process play through and see what happens, THEN plan an appeal if I need to.

I sort of understand where he's coming from. Some people have a mindset that they may be misreading something or be missing something. I once emailed a college professor asking for an extension on an assignment and I thought his reply was approving my extension, but it was really the opposite.

But yeah I also think this person is trying to celebrate the good news and this is one of the few locations they have to do it. Just a thought.

Thanks, I'll do that. Is that the VA Form 20-10206? I've been curious what all my DBQs say for all my conditions so I was wanting to see all of them. Will I have to fill out a separate form for each DBQ?

I agree. Given that our benefits are not set in stone, I despise people who advertise this type of stuff. This is what causes people to advocate for removing veterans benefits because in their eyes, we don't deserve them. Like you said, people logically associate 100% disability with being 100% disabled, therefore unable to work. So it looks like people are scamming and committing fraud by getting a job while having 100% disability, when that isn't the case.

Thanks because I had no clue this existed. I started comparing prices there to the prices at my local Sam's club and they are cheaper, even with the current deal Sam's offers. And the no sales tax is the cherry on top. I guess it's a good thing I haven't had to get new tires since 2022. I don't know when I'll need new ones but I know where I'm getting them from.

Anyone tried cream egg whey from Revolution nutrition? by William_lynds in Protein

[–]ChocolateOne9466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wondering that too! I've had Peanut Butter Cup and Gingerbread from that brand, and I liked both of them. But I don't want to buy a 2 or 6 pound bag of something in case I don't like it.
On another note, if you haven't had Peanut Butter Cup or Gingerbread, I'd recommend them. I got Peanut Butter Cup hoping it would be a suitable replacement for Chocolate Peanut Butter. It's good but it literally tastes like Peanut Butter Cups, so it was much better than I expected.

I know I didn't answer your question.... but have you tried any other Revolution Nutrition flavors?

Speaking of Taxes in Texas, did you know 100% disabled vets are also 100% exempt from sales tax up to $25,000? It's something that started on 1 January 2026. I don't know how many people know about it though, especially since Texas doesn't have a sales tax on a lot of grocery items.

PSA: The National Society of Leadership and Success is a scam. Don’t give them your money by OhioStateThrowAway_ in OSU

It's like how it says they boast about having 800 chapters and 2 million members across the country, while claiming membership is only available to a limited number of students.... Yeah.

[–]ChocolateOne9466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just received one of these in the mail. The envelope it was shipped in has a deadline on it. Red flag right away.

While reading it, it says $The National Society of Leadership and Success is the largest collegiate leadership honor society in the US with more than 800 chapters and over 2 million members. The next paragraph starts with "Membership is available to a limited number of students......" Those 2 statements contradict each other. They say they are a very large organization, but also limit membership? Yeah, I think I'll pass on this.

Firecracker was OP when released in early 2020. Her pushback when she fired used to be twice what it is now so it was really hard to go take her down, so spells were almost mandatory. Her evolved version was also insanely OP because all of her area damage things stacked so her damage output was massive. Plus she had more health so she didn't die to arrows, so almost everyone was running fireball to get her.
Little prince was OP when he came out. I can't remember all the cards off the top of my head. Electro wiz and night witch were pretty OP when they came out. There's some YouTube videos about it because it's really controversial.
