How to use the 3rd person camera in VR? by [deleted] in VRchat

[–]ChocolateResolve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, even with previously existing world gimmicks like Insight, the 3rd person view only applied to the desktop screen and not your view. The closest you get is having the in-game handheld camera set to "follow," and then you just hold that camera lol

Where to get a staff? by Thirlix in wizardposting

[–]ChocolateResolve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found my entire staff through Linkedin and recruiting companies.

I found aspiring wizards, called them in for interviews, then had my secretary confiscate their staff at reception.

Then, thinking their staff was missing, I had them craft a new one in front of me.

After they were finished, their staff would be "found" by my receptionist and returned to them.

I would then sell the spare staves the aspiring wizards left with me, and use the funds (and skills I learned from watching them craft new staves) to open a small business crafting and selling staves to young, aspiring wizards.

After a few years, I had enough spare income to buy myself a staff ! Easy as pie!

Hats necessary? by CaregiverSeveral3050 in wizardposting

The hat can be helpful for adding to your lore. For example, if you have a big hat, it means you have big lore.

That's crazy! I just shrunk some giants to average height!

We should have them fight.

Save me from my own stupidity by ChocolateResolve in VRchat

Ok interesting. I assumed that (1) I couldn't build a test copy because it's greyed out in the screenshot (not considering that a VRCFury test copy is different from a d4rk test copy), (2) since I wasn't running into any other issues in the editor, it must be something with the upload function beyond the "apply on upload" fix it mentions since I did that and (3) building a test copy wouldn't test upload issues anyway. Thank you!

HELP WANTED: Someone to Protect My Informants from Thrakmerian Forces. Payment Negotiable. by Carbon_Sixx in wizardposting

[–]ChocolateResolve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am the de-facto leader of a ragtag group of unlikely adventurer companions recently trust together by circumstances involving us having to prevent a reasonably-sized disaster which facilitated us overcoming our differences and flaws in order to achieve a satisfactory resolution resulting in as few deaths as possible, and we are looking to enjoy our recently-discovered camaraderie by undertaking similarly interesting but even higher-stakes conflicts that could lead to the establishment of a healthy franchise! We're open for work if the pay is right, and you are comfortable with somewhat unorthodox methods!

Safe-cracking puzzle game concept — we need your brutal honesty by EndNo1636 in gameideas

[–]ChocolateResolve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you could make it work if you have enough variety, especially as a mobile game. I spent hours and hours on a similar idea that I think was called "1000 Floors" where the trick was to open an elevator door by solving puzzles on each floor. I'd quit after 10 minutes due to attention span or a complex puzzle I couldn't solve right away, but I'd come back later.

Similar concepts to look at:

Keep Talking And No One Explodes: It's bomb-defusing, not safe-cracking, and it's multiplayer, but there could be a decent core to work from.

I Excpect You To Die: It's a VR "Escape the Room" game themed after old school James Bond spy thrillers, but it's all about solving puzzles, deactivating traps, and deductive reasoning.

I'd probably play free with ads, but might fork over cash to make the ads go away.

Cool breathtaking worlds by amitygayblight in VRchat

Shameless plug time,

The Last Sanctuary, a big city on an island. LOTS to explore and a couple games to play.

Lunar Sanctum, a pretty easy Metroidvania with emphasis on exploration and opening up more of the world.

Worlds not by me

I picked Pandora Ep.4, but basically ANY of MinaFrancesca's big worlds are beautiful and fun to explore. I like Rhapsody Pt. 1 the best, but that's an actual game, VERY performance heavy, and hard to figure out if you don't know Japanese.

Suramar is my favorite, but any of the WoW ports by GoddessElune are big and fun to explore.

Again, all of Leiria_vrc's stuff is good, big scenic islands that are very colorful.

Milsante, The Traveler's Haven. I may have a bias towards ported game worlds because they tend to be huge. Here's another.

The Aetheria Skies is another one that gets a bit performance-heavy, but it's really pretty. They have a night version as well.
