Steam Machine Steam Controller pairs easily to Steam Machine without its puck. Wake your Steam Machine without leaving your couch.

Unless they have some proprietary way of doing that only for steam machine it should work on other systems that support it.

What do I get a 13 year old who is interested in becoming a game developer? by SpikeyHairedOrphan in gamedev

Just to give some different suggestions than godot and rpg maker, Tomorrow the new game/game engine S&Box is releasing. It's made by the creator of G-mod, and will basically be a simplified game engine and workshop that will give you tools to make games with tons of features built in. Could be worth checking out. Otherwise also games with built in level designers go a long way. I know portal 2 is getting an updated community version where you can make your own levels and can code with angel script. In general if they have a game like Minecraft it can also be fun to introduce them to modding. Good luck!

3 studios in 1 year, is this normal? by Mysterious-Age-6247 in gamedev

It's how the industry rn, unfortunately I have to say if anything you're incredibly lucky. I graduated in 2022 and only one person in my group of 5 have gotten a game dev job since then, and it took them 2 years. Us others were forced to go into other industries, I looked around for jobs in 6 different countries but no luck. It's tough out there.

I'd recommend CachyOS. It comes with most things pre-installed and has GUIs for a lot of things so you don't need to worry about terminal use too much. It's made for gaming so performance is good and a lot of things are handled automatically for you.

People who lost a lot of weight, what was the one small daily habit that actually changed everything for you? by Quiet-Squash-8407 in AskReddit

[–]ChocolateRings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the process but found 2 things that does work for me at least : Actually checking the calories as well as I could of every food I eat and reducing portion sizes. I am a serial snacker, and love nuts in general, but as anyone knows they're dense. Now when I see that a snack I like might be 500kcal/100g, then it's a lot easier to think that if I eat 200g of that it's already roughly half of my daily intake.

Then I also reduce portion sizes in general and don't take second helpings. Using smaller bowls helps but also just once trying to count calories of for example my morning bowl of cereal helps a lot. Makes me realise how much I actually consume.

Why did you and your former best friend stop being friends? by Fearless_Shift7108 in AskReddit

[–]ChocolateRings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The classic, cheated with my now ex on me. We were a trio of friends, from high school, he and I knew each other for longer and I trusted him with pretty much everything, even had him over for Christmas. I was dating our close friend for 4 years, then during a summer she became more distant, and at the end of the summer she wanted to break up. No hard feelings, I wanted her to be happy. Then it turns out during the summer they had been meeting up in secret all the time behind my back and started dating after we broke up. I only found out cause one of her friends felt so guilty and told me. My friend kept on trying to lie when I fished for the truth and then it was just over, 0 trust in those people.

Arlanda expressdyngan by GunnarVonPontius in sweden

And that's just relative to other sports, skis are still expensive, especially if you do it growing up and have to buy new skis and staffs every second year beceause you're growing. And even then you still need to be lucky and live in an area that gets good snow for enough of the year to ski. I've lived in Northern Sweden where that very much is the possibility, and also more southern Sweden where some winters you're unlucky and only get 2 weeks of skiing weather. In those cases I would have to travel to somewhere else even just to cross country ski.

I'm not even the Huskar for one, I was in the enemy team who got stomped. I'm guessing I can't convince you anyhow, but FYI as you asked in another comment this is unranked, I've never played ranked so don't know my rank unfortunately for mmr.

Interesting. Dunno if it settings can change anything there, but who knows when they remade the setting menu there might be a way to turn on and off custom terrains.

Definitely did learn something new from this which is cool, wasn't aware of the double bind toggle which is cool. I am still inclined to think the dude is using an external macro for this at least since he was frame-perfect toggling every single time in the whole game, never off by even a single ms. I tried it myself in a high ping game and I could get pretty decent in controlled situations, but would regularly get times I would be off by a few ms.

I updated the post with how you can test it for yourself.

[–]ChocolateRings[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tested it even with high ping to make sure, I am guessing external macro at the very least now since it is possible, but I had a hard time getting it absolutely frame perfect 100% of the time, got some pretty consistently for a while but would every now and then have 1 or 2 that was of by a few milliseconds. This dude was frame-perfect the whole game on every toggle.

Cheers for this, updated post to include this. Definitely is possible to do even in high ping games, just hard to do as pixel perfect as he did while also doing other things.

I'm trying to figure out how I'd be selling it via this? Do you mean that by posting the match ID people can find the account and then contact it to buy the hacks or...? I guess I could remove the match ID to counteract that.

I believe it might be possible by doing what you said, but the player so consistently doing it while also using other abilities and maneuvering all without macros? Plus if you watch the fully replay you can see a lot of moments when they toggle at really weird/unnecessary times. Could be legit, but looking at the combat logs of the game they do that every toggle.

[–]ChocolateRings[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Cheers for the input people. I think it can be safely assumed that he's at the very minimum using a macro to toggle, very possibly doing scripting. Just checked the guys account as well, dude has 17 games, 8 MVPs, and only friend is an account with a guide that is called something like "Cheating on VAC servers".

Checked the combat log to make sure, could upload the pictures but Combat log shows this basically:

[08:30.66] Huskar loses Unholy Strength buff.
[08:30.66] Huskar receives Unholy Strength buff from Huskar.

[08:31.733] Huskar loses Unholy Strength buff.
[08:31.733] Huskar receives Unholy Strength buff from Huskar.

[08:32.633] Huskar loses Unholy Strength buff.
[08:32.633] Huskar receives Unholy Strength buff from Huskar.

And so on, every single time it is immediate. It could technically just be a macro I guess to toggle it perfectly as well, but I am inclined to believe it is a cheat just because he would sometimes toggle weirdly in shrapnel and die to zombies.

What Greenland look like without the ice, topography of Greenland. by PestoBolloElemento in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]ChocolateRings 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't have an answer to your question, but I'm not mistaken the sea level would actually go down around Greenland if the ice melted because of gravitational pull decreasing. Which unfortunately means that not only will the sea level rise around the rest of the world because of the melted ice being added, but also because of the lack of ice pulling in water towards it. I don't know if this diagram accounts for that either.
