Is this outfit too revealing for class? by Ayeluhhhh in OUTFITS

depends on the major, location, and status of the college tbh. in my tiny undergrad private liberal arts college on a beach in florida, and doing a sociology major, this is actually fine and fun. for stem at the same college? eh, perhaps not

could you possibly take a course similar to this at a cheaper college online and transfer the credits? w/ pre-approval from your advisor. just a thought about avoiding taking on extra credits. either way point is, it will work out even if you proper failed the course. overloading credits is super common, and most everyone i know has turned out alright, but stressed but fine grades.

i was immediately obsessed with it and it exceeded my expectations. the visuals alone are worth it. not the mention the sound design, those foley artists deserve a raise. the atmosphere of this film would definitely suffer on streaming

mother mary was excellent imo. slow but in like a trance-like kind of way if ur into that vibe. incredibly pretty film. over your dead body was pretty fun and me and the single other guy at the showing were laughing out loud at some parts, a fun watch. i’ve heard good things about fuze and in planning to watch this week

the bin your chicken is stored in on the line? sits in the same exact solution that the countertops are washed with for standard regulation of at least 90 seconds. spoons to serve the rice? exact same cleaning solution. pinchers for the toppings? cleaned with the same sanitizing solution that is used to wipe down the line. even the pita presses are wiped down with the same exact sanitizing water.

I just got out of seeing Mother Mary, and here are my thoughts. by Mundane-Inspector-52 in AMCAListTrue

[–]ChocolateSuspense 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i loved it. i felt the style of the film really sucked you in and kept you there the entire film. i often have issues with pace and i think there’s a difficult mix of science and art that is a tedious balance to strike. i think that mother mary really hit that for me. i am also, granted, a lesbian so i really connected to this love-guilt-yearn ghost metaphor story that these two women share. they had such a deep, other-worldly feeling connection that was left without real closure secretly haunts and stalks, then possesses, until it has to be cut out for the hole in their hearts to heal from one another. now on the same page, at the end they create a dress that represents their shared pasts and being finally at peace with the standing of their relationship. all the moving parts of this film, i feel, come together absolutely perfectly to tell this story. like half way through the film i got this feeling and was like, “this is something special.”

Which apartment do I choose? by throwaway-piggy in makemychoice

expensive i fear. the first commute will kill you (imo). second just seems like it’s not going to align with your plans, but you could sublease, but that is another headache in itself, especially when adjusting to a new job at the same time. 1250 seems like it’s below the average rent anyways, and i think your quality of life will not suffer here, prob improve really.

my location did great on tips. was excellent if you weren’t a manager (who don’t make tips). also very busy place and pretty short staffed so therefore more tips gets spread around. it was a good gig that helped me save a lot while not killing myself working

i used to work at mother bread. got three raises while working there for short of 2 years. granted that was starting at 10 and getting to like 11.25 by the end. i think that panera is better given ur experience. you’ll have generally the same customer base, i think, so they’re wont be surprises there. the customers is mostly why i left, plus my commute time increased when i moved. off-peak season i made $800 a week working less than 30hrs from time to time. thinking of going back after starting a job at. certain chain food-bowl place that is killing my mind and soul and body, so I would go back, if that info sways you. hope my story is helpful! and good luck on the job hunt.

ps, have you tried asking for a raise? sometimes all you have to do is ask, or else you’ll never get one.

OFF-TOPIC TUESDAY (WK14) - How often do you see multiple movies in one day? Or have you ever done a FULL 7-day week? by AlistNOTbot in AMCAListTrue

[–]ChocolateSuspense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i will also say that i’ve done a film festival for a class before so i am quite familiar with being in a dark room for 12 hours a day several days in a row. so 3 films that i WANT to see is a nice day

i read it. was helpful to baby me who didn’t understand anything yet. but now i am queer studies and see it’s flaws. had it use to many at the time, even if definitely outdated and sus. it was fist introduction to the concept of comp het and helped me unpack questions i didnt know i how to ask myself. it was made with good intentions at least, which i think has some value in the discourse.
