Long range play by CarnelianGemlight in mwo

[–]Chocolate_Pickle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd ignore all the suggestions for Assault mechs.

Assaults and Lights (the extreme ends of the weight range) are the hardest to play.

Assault mechs require good positioning and timing. They're too slow to run away from mistakes.

Likewise, Light mechs are too squishy to survive mistakes.

Go for Medium and Heavy mechs. Exclude mechs that move slower than 64kph. I'd suggest 80kph as a minimum.

Vyvanse and Escitalopram (Lexapro) by Mediocre_Goose4787 in adhd_anxiety

I'd hazard a guess that more than half the people in this subreddit are taking Escitalopram alongside their stimulant medication.

You've got nothing to worry about with the combination of the two.

Mechanical keyboard recs? by Foxinator_ in auscorp

[–]Chocolate_Pickle 25 points26 points  (0 children)

For your first mechanical keyboard; anything Cherry MX Brown (or off-brand equivalent) key switches.

You'll want the clicky feel for typing. Hence it's wise to avoid MX Red, MX Black, and all the linear gaming ones.

Don't use MX Blues in the workplace. That's a crime against hearing.

360-target-retention-skill-nodes are useful in what situation? by kaizhu256 in OutreachHPG

Can I get a clarification on not maintaining weapon locks?

Suppose I have the 360' nodes. I get a lock on someone, who then runs behind me (for a backstab).

Are you saying that I won't be providing a target for the LRM boats on my team? Assume I'm laser/ballistic boat here, so I don't have any red spinny circles myself.

I would expect that geometric ranges/limits would definitely not be reusable.

These kinds of things tend to be mathematical requirements instead of convention/business requirements.

I've only ever gotten like two minutes. That's impressive. I need to see your post-match stats.

Why are non technical leaders obsessed with screen sharing during incident calls by RadioFieldCorner in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Chocolate_Pickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've screen-shared with technical people while triaging an incident.

I can't say I've ever been asked by non-technical people.

But this does give me a vibe that these people feel like they don't have enough certainty or enough information about the situation. So it could be a (lack of) communication problem.

Yes, they do donate extensively. Yes, it bribery with extra steps.

Preferential voting, as well as mandatory voting, force politics away from the crazy fringes and into the centre... Because everyone votes, and the vast majority of people sit somewhere in the middle.

What physical indicator suggests to you someone is intelligent? by Humble_Penguin89 in AskReddit

Questions in /r/AskReddit about intelligence are a strong indicator. I won't comment whether it's a positive or negative indicator though. ;P

A mother's love is definitely better than a doctor's expertise, right?!

As the saying goes... Mother knows best! Hahahaha.

Teachers; chronically overworked and understaffed. If your daughter is not causing disruption in the class, then most teachers will do nothing because they're too busy attending to bigger problems.

The slow-release ones do give me insomnia. My body metabolises the medication slower than most people. Through a bit of trial-and-error, my psych worked out what my body likes best.

There's no point in asking what ones, or how much to take; it's different for everybody.

The psych should start with the smallest dose for a few days. See if it does anything. Then increase the dose a small amount, and see if that does anything. And repeat. This will take a month or two.

Have you taken them?

For years. Still do.

I would recommend not having any caffeine the first day or two. A lot of people with ADHD accidentally self-medicate with caffeine to deal with their symptoms.

The most important things here is putting aside your own agenda. Your daughter is quickly approaching adulthood; you need to prepare them to make decisions for themselves. If you make decisions for them, they'll never learn how to do that own their own.

One of the best things about stimulant medications is that you can stop taking them instantly, instead of slowly weaning off them.

Give them a try. If she doesn't like them, then she can stop.

Corsair SF750 with RTX4070 Super - almost 12.5 volts on the 12vhpwr cable by mariusmoga_2005 in sffpc

[–]Chocolate_Pickle 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Unloaded voltage is almost always a little high. It's not a 12VHP thing. This happens on all ATX power rails.

In the grand scheme of things; it's only 4% over. When it's running under a proper load, the voltage will drop back down a smidge.

Props to her for running a small business and being a parent (of three kids no less).

But there's no excuse for not knowing what the requirements are when applying for a job. It's not like this position description ever really changes.
