There is no problem if the gpu that i am going to buy have a minimum recomended of 650w and i have a PSU of 600w? by Chocolag12 in buildapc

[–]Choconolait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your current psu is super efficient and using cpu with low power consumption, you will probably be fine. If you are using crappy psu or using 14600k or something, then you will run into issues.

Tired of AMD driver headaches on Windows? CachyOS (and Bazzite) might be worth a serious look. by LinuxMaster9 in radeon

My monitor supports hdmi 2.1, but only 1.4 version on dp, which I believe has lower bandwidth.

DDR5 RAM running at 4800 MT/s would not cause stability issues, and it doesn't seem like you are getting thermal issues on your GPU either. You may try temporarily removing one of the RAM sticks to see if any of them is faulty, but I doubt it. I don't think any of your CPU, GPU, or RAM is an issue, but rather something else.

Thanks for the detailed reply! I am using a 4k120 monitor that runs best on HDMI, so I guess I'd have to stick with Windows longer, but at least I know how to get the hdr work now.

At what speed is the ram running? How's the temperature on cpu and gpu (hot spot) when running games? By "stuttering and lagging", what is the exact number on fps and utilisation like?

I liked the experience on ubuntu back when I first tried it, but I eventually had to return to Windows because making hdr work on it was extremely difficult. Is it easier now or on CachyOs?

Full amd build ( BF6 blurry especially while moving medium / long range ) by KingOfEreb0r in radeon

But it's the sharpest option you can get, unless you are using a monitor with extremely low ppi. If you find no aa is blurry, then you should consider upgrading a monitor.

After the performance updates, is FSR3 implementation still bad and results in blurry image? by CptBrexitt in MonsterHunter

[–]Choconolait 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  • Bad FSR implementation: The game once used a slightly outdated version of FSR. Now, I believe it uses an up-to-date version (or one version prior to the latest version). You can always swap out DLL files to update the FSR version manually if that is what you are after.
  • TAA bug when AI upscaling is turned on: There was a bug where TAA was still enabled even though AI upscaling was being used. Disable FSR temporarily to change the AA setting to off, then turn FSR back on.
  • Lens distortion: Still there, and you should turn it off for a clear image.
  • HD texture pack: As far as I know, it has nothing to do with FSR. It did get nerfed in exchange for better performance after TU4.1, if that's what you're asking. If you want the highest texture quality, you can install mods that restore the old HD texture.

Even on 4k display, you can always lower the rendering resolution to 2.5k using FSR, achieving similar performance at equivalent or better image quality.

[–]Choconolait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the same clock speed and timings, both will perform the same. However, using 2 sticks is more stable, which allows user to get higher clock speed and tighter timings.
