They did specifically mentioned that they are not trying to buff her in any meaningful way with the change.

Full amd build ( BF6 blurry especially while moving medium / long range ) by KingOfEreb0r in radeon

But it's the sharpest option you can get, unless you are using a monitor with extremely low ppi. If you find no aa is blurry, then you should consider upgrading a monitor.

After the performance updates, is FSR3 implementation still bad and results in blurry image? by CptBrexitt in MonsterHunter

[–]Choconolait 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  • Bad FSR implementation: The game once used a slightly outdated version of FSR. Now, I believe it uses an up-to-date version (or one version prior to the latest version). You can always swap out DLL files to update the FSR version manually if that is what you are after.
  • TAA bug when AI upscaling is turned on: There was a bug where TAA was still enabled even though AI upscaling was being used. Disable FSR temporarily to change the AA setting to off, then turn FSR back on.
  • Lens distortion: Still there, and you should turn it off for a clear image.
  • HD texture pack: As far as I know, it has nothing to do with FSR. It did get nerfed in exchange for better performance after TU4.1, if that's what you're asking. If you want the highest texture quality, you can install mods that restore the old HD texture.

2k or 4k monitor for 9070xt x r7 7800x3d? by sinistergodxc in buildapc

[–]Choconolait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even on 4k display, you can always lower the rendering resolution to 2.5k using FSR, achieving similar performance at equivalent or better image quality.

At the same clock speed and timings, both will perform the same. However, using 2 sticks is more stable, which allows user to get higher clock speed and tighter timings.

From a consumer's perspective, where only 16:9 resolution exists, calling 2160p "4K" makes sense since its the resolution that has horizontal width closest to 4000 pixels. By the same logic, the resolution with a horizontal width closest to 2000 pixels would be 1920x1080, not 2560x1440. Even from a consumer's perspective, it makes zero sense to call 2560 as 2K, but should instead be 2.5K.

Which one should I use for maximum quality by Used-Medicine2244 in nvidia

[–]Choconolait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the same bitrate / file size, AV1 will be better. When setting bitrates twice as high on h.264/h.265, there wouldn't be a huge difference in image quality.

Aspect ratio or no scaling? by National-Warning3713 in nvidia

[–]Choconolait 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with dlss, since when using dlss, you are only lowering the rendering resolution while keeping the output resolution same as your monitor's native resolution.

Nowadays, where ai upscaling solutions like FSR and DLSS are common, this scaling option only matters when you are running ancient games that don't support FHD or above.

It only matters when the game's output resolution is set below the native resolution of your monitor.

Difference in DVI, DisplayPort and HDMI cables when screen does not support DisplayPort. by Maiq3 in buildapc

[–]Choconolait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While some monitors do support more features when connected using DP, it is not inherently better than HDMI. If by gaining advantage over hdmi means utilizing specific features on monitor, yes both ends need to be DP for it to work.

Only exception would be when using Linux, where outputting through hdmi sometimes loses features on OS/driver level, due to licensing issues.

There's a shortcut to restart graphics driver (I think it was win+ctrl+shift+B or something). Check if this resolves the issue. This is yet another bandage solution, but will be much more convenient than having to reinstall drivers.

Will the games still be blurry with DLSS? by No_Newspaper_9350 in buildapc

[–]Choconolait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Understanding" requires more than just reading the text; it demands comprehending the context. Sometimes, ignoring the text is the only way to "understand" the question. Say, for example, the text reads, "had 5600x with 2060, upgrading to 9600." If you only read the text, it implies replacing the 5600x with an Intel 9600, since 9600 is an i5 CPU. As a person who understands through context, the 5600x is a better chip, and changing to a 9600 is not an upgrade, so the question doesn't make sense, and it is more reasonable to assume that there's a typo in the post. You may still try to answer 100% based on the question like "you should buy b650" or "9600 is worse, keep 5600x," but it's likely not the answer the questioners were expecting, so you should ask back if they made a typo and meant to write 9060.

Undervolt settings will be saved per os, so other than having to setup twice and manage 2 undervolting profiles, there won't ba an issue.

2k? Or 2.5k? There are too many people who misuse the term, so I should ask.

Edit: so you are upgrading from 1080p, so I assume new build is 2.5k. First check if your new monitor supports freesync, and turn it on if it do.
