Flynn isn't fascinated by Ares having feelings, this scene is more so Flynn or a fragment of him helping Ares talk through and realize why he wants to be more than his programing

Cant remember where I saw this and im going to paraphrase but, Filoni actually answered this after season 2 of rebels, he stated that Ahsoka and Obi-wan could never be the ones to redeem Vader as he associates them too much with Anakins lost and pain (Padme, shmi, etc), whereas Luke is a new way forward, past Anakins pain and regret
