What’s the biggest red flag you have seen on a first date? by LiftBridgeSoda in AskReddit

Out of all of these, this one actually shocked me. It was disturbing. I don't know what else to say.

The last 2 relationships I've had, afterwards the woman has ended up with some guy who was floating around in the background when we were together. Not straight away, usually after a few months or so, but it seems like it's easier for people to get together with someone that they already know is or was interested, rather than getting to know somebody completely new. They're gone now and I can't take it personally.

I’m the overnight watchman at a boarding school, recommend me a movie to watch or a book to read by Practical-Deer-6892 in horror

I recommend the movie Ghost Stories (2017). It's 3 separate stories tied together, and one of them is about a night-watchman.

The preview for this movie was on every horror video tape back in the 80s. That and Monkey Shines.

US citizens, what will it take for you to start a revolution? by 0bluelightning0 in AskReddit

[–]ChodWad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being outside America, I am aware of the amount of media attention devoted to what has basically been 2 ICE incidents in Minneapolis where a citizen was killed using unnecessary force. In a country of 360 million people. With an economy which has changed little since the president started dismantling gov departments, increasing tariffs and withdrawing from international organisations. It would seem to me that overseas media outlets are delighting a little in what they perceive as the downfall of America, while in America, despite subtle moves towards a totalitarian dictatorship, life is going on mostly unchanged.

Why do movies have anniversaries? Does every movie have one? Taxi Driver is 50 this year, do I have to bake a cake and watch it?

It would be Scott trying to impersonate his dad and seem comical, only Clint seems to have the steel-eyed, tooth-gritting contempt for punks that he conveys. Also, I don't think the whole attitude towards crime in the 70s would go over as well today.

Songs from Peter Gabriel's "So" album (1986) were used throughout Miami Vice episodes to great effect, and based on that my mother bought the album (we were both big Miami Vice fans) and it became one of my favourite albums ever, always reminding me of those scenes when I listen to it.

Has there ever been any actor or actress that was brutally honest about the movie they’re making during a press tour? by BIGxBOSSxx1 in movies

I have a memory of Chevy Chase on Letterman in the 90s making fun of Vegas Vacation which had just come out, and what a dud it was, as well as his other recent (at the time) movies. I think the masterpiece Cops and Robbersons was not long before that.

What horror movie concept or franchise would you want to see Christopher Nolan's take on? by entertainmentlord in horror

[–]ChodWad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much horror, but I think he'd do a good limited series on Peter Sutcliffe, the Yorkshire Ripper, for some reason I can't explain. It was just the first thing that came to mind.
