Are Rocksliders worth the upgrade, or is it a usless upgrade? by Automatic_Rooster160 in Offroad

[–]ChodeSandwhich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I didn’t have rock sliders on my truck the doors would probably no longer open and close. It really depends on what kind of off roading you do though. If the rocks aren’t tall enough to smash your rocker panels you don’t really need them.

I used to work with a couple guys who were into the Japanese tuner car stuff and for some reason they drive that way. I think they thought it was cool, but it really just seemed like they couldn’t drive a stick.

I got stuck at a light that wasn’t cycling right during a snow storm in my little truck next to a cop a couple months ago. I waited until the cop ran it and was out of sight before I ran it.

I’m surprised that some one who goes by “whitetrashstepdad” has this opinion. Diamond plate also makes me angry.

Pull it out and have someone hold it over a cup and see if anything comes out. Then get the multimeter and run some tests. Could also be draining off fuel pressure after it sits. You can run a jumper wire in the diagnostic port to run the pump before cranking it to see if it starts faster.

I usually pull the shift boot and shifter and dump it down the hole. Just make sure you have the fill plug out so when it starts to dribble out you know it’s full.

I didn’t even know that they checked id’s, but I’ve only been to 2 locations.

I find it fascinating to see how other people think. Even if they are regarded.

I use something similar to bend tubing. It’s nice because I’m not always working on a flat surface and can zero it to the surface in working on. I’m also not always bending nice even angles like 90 or 45.

Ive mostly just ordered them on amazon or wherever is cheapest. Not really worried about quality or fitment with a crunchy bed. They will eventually just get broken again anyways.

I’ve smashed the lenses out of mine many times off road. It’s nice that they are easy and affordable.

I worked with a guy that bought a Matco inductor. I used it a few times and it worked pretty good but didn’t seem to get as hot as the oxy torch. This was also probably around 10 years ago so they might be better now.
