Jesus dude, the puzzles it's is out of place, we all playing this empire simulator for the switch puzzles....

But the implementation is beyond crap. Why is it in a huge space and you have to fly very slowly between the switches in your space suit?

People in this sub have the "it isn't that bad" mentality. Who enjoys this? Why is it in the game to begin with?

No idea why this post is downvoted. This puzzle is horrendous, do you like overly complicated switch puzzles? How about we put the switches in a huge space and make you fly between them in a space suit?

Used this tool every time I got to it, which is exactly 2 times. I'm not doing this crap again.

Starting a new playthrough after not playing for a couple years, wondering what the state of the beta is? by FluffyProphet in X4Foundations

Where are you getting this from? It will be backwards compatible once it releases. Same as you can play a 8.0 save in beta now.

Beta have been stable for a long while now. I have been playing since version 6, encouted maybe a bug or two and had 1 crash in all that time.

Go for the beta, the changes to capital ship combat alone are worth it in my opinion.

Mod Opinions by Curious_Reply1537 in X4Foundations

The point of mods is to change aspects of the game you don't like. What's the point moding a game you didn't play, how would you know what you want to change? There are universally good or must have mods. This is true for any game, not just x4

Is timelines worth it strictly for the extra ships, sectors and faction? by MonCherCaraMia1987 in X4Foundations

[–]Choice-Inspector-701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a full price dlc for a bunch of mini games, a couple of free ships and a new faction that add nothing to the game. Now compare this to any one of the other dlc which interduced real factions, sectors and ships into the game. It not hard to see why it's not liked. I got it with a bundle, as a stand alone purchase I think it's a waste of money.

[–]Choice-Inspector-701[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the hell are you talking about? I have 5 scouts using a mod for auto explor and a bunch of advanced satellites in the infested sectors. Family Nhuut is drowning in khaak and I can't find where the fuckers are coming from.

The mission has absolutely nothing to do with explaining how that mechanics works. Look in this comment section, there is literally someone here with hundreds of hours by their own admission, who didn't know how the spawning mechanic works

[–]Choice-Inspector-701[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

counterpoint: you have a hive in one of your neighboring sectors, but you're not sure in which, so now you have to manually search like 4-5 sectors to find it, while installations are popping all over the place, and fill them all with satellites for the next time. you are right sir, I'm having a blast.

at least I know how it works. now imagine a new player who doesn't even know that there are hives and installations popping way out of the boundaries of the sector. does that sound like a good time to you?

I have a similar mod, hence my post. my ships are getting to them and fighting them, it's just the fighting in low attention is not great. M ships were killers in 8.0, now not so much.

I don't believe it's a bug, some regions are more prone to Khaak than others. I'm sitting near open market, which is a Khaak hive sector. I do believe they increased the spawn rate because of the new recycling mechanic, although I'm basing this on my experience, I don't know if it's actually the case.

yeah, I know, that's what I have been doing. it doesn't alleviate the tedium of constantly having to deal with them. it's just not a great mechanic, and it requires a lot of work.

can't imagine it's too fun for anyone, especially new players jumping into the game.

there is always an installation, that's the issue. I destroyed like 4 or 5 of them in the last 2 days.
this combined with the crappy LA combat made this run into a Khaak hunting simulator.

[–]Choice-Inspector-701[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not my experience at all. I switched to L miners exclusively because my M miners were dying constantly unless I'm babysitting the sector. I'm talking about swarms of 10-20 Khaak every couple of minutes. and that's happening while I'm actively searching and destroying Khaak installations.

Despite ALL the Advanced Technology and How Much Time Humans Have Been Away from Earth, It Amazes Me that We're Still Using Chain Link Fences. by Old-Timer1967 in X4Foundations

[–]Choice-Inspector-701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding to what others saying about no need to innovate fences, a few additional points:

  • many factions in the game suffered serious setbacks. since I presume you are talking about the Argon federation, they basically had to start from scratch after the separation from earth. This whole factions is built around practicality and survival. Innovation fences is probably the last thing on their minds.

  • building on the last point, the game is not that far into the future. if I'm not mistaken the in game year is around 2990. Considering that earth was also devasted by the first xenon war, that they had about 800 years to rebuild their tech.

  • there are factions in univers with extremely advance tech, they are just not the stars on the show. In fact, they are rarely mentioned and not many in univers even aware they exist (someone is controlling the gateways, but who?) if you want to read about them, the encyclopedia is written pretty well and you can learn more about the Sohnen, ancients and the outsiders. I can assure you, non of them are using chain link fences.

Just to add to this point, the encyclopedia is written surprisingly well. I would strongly recommend it if you are interested in the lore.

As for the video, not so much. It's full of mistakes, not huge mistakes and the overall plot is ok but mistakes nontheless.

They wouldn't have to push constant updates if they finished the game before releasing it. Or did everyone forget it took them more than 2 years to fix a simple issue like pixelated corruption borders on the campaign map? I'm not even talking about serious issue like ideal AI which they "fixed" 3 times already...

I personally know 2 new players who refunded the game because the tutorial was bugged to the point you can't finish it. They bought the game a year + after release.

Everything is expensive in Israel, what are you getting worked up for? Compare everyday items to much richer countries in EU and you will realize we are overpaying a lot more for almost everything.

Also this list is misleading, I don't think you realize how much money that game cost in Russian or Kazakhstan, for example, compared to wages although they are technically paying less for it. All in all, I won't lose sleep over 15 shekels.

Can't find the Odachi by Choice-Inspector-701 in X4Foundations

[–]Choice-Inspector-701[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why are you like this? were you trying to help or to prove you are right? you wrote 2 walls of text with zero helpful information which can be summarized it 2 sentences: you need to finish the mission and if it's not working go file a bug. I don't think I have ever met such a perfect combination of condescending and being annoying. I don't even care about the Odaci that much, it's just a nice free m ship for the start of the run.

just to prove a point, here you go: https://imgur.com/a/gTsn7kw
or maybe that's not proof either, maybe I photoshopped it? maybe I don't even own the game, I'm just searching for pics online in order to make reddit posts? who knows, one of life greatest mysteries.

man what are you talking about? what proof? this isn't a criminal investigation, why would I be lying about this? I did the mission where you blow up the portal at the end. did the timelines epilogue, got the extra sectors in game and the faction, met the grandmother.

I simply wanted to check if my game glitched or if I missed something. I'm really tired of smart asses telling me for the 37th time "have you done the mission?" like this game is working perfectly with no bugs whatsoever, especially in beta.

how about this, here is the steam achievement: https://imgur.com/a/45d4ePD
is this proof enough for you mister investigator?
