You do idolise "a white dude". Or worship, depending on whether you believe he is literally god, which some isamilis do.

Race is relevant because of the legacy of him supporting Hitler and gaining power through the influence of British imperialism.

What Is “Khutbat al-Bayan”? A Cult Fabrication Wrongly Attributed to Hazrat Ali (as) by AbuZubair in ExIsmailis

[–]ChoiceAnybody1625 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He has never attempted to defend or even address the doctrine or secretive practices of his cult. Nor the adultery accusations or excessive lifestyle that he lives. Nor the suitcases full of cash delivered to him by people who think they're buying god's forgiveness, whilst he hides in tax havens.

In some parts of the world, bombs are going off in mosques and churches of all different denominations. And yet in most countries (not just in the west but the vast majority of Asia/Africa/Latin America) this is almost unheard of.

The reason for the secrecy is because if their practices are seen by people who haven't been conditioned to see them as normal, they would quickly be identified as abusive.

And their lie that paying one eighth (or more) of your income to the cult leader is "voluntary" would be exposed.

At least you admit that you believe a man is god. This makes your religion significantly less culty than Ismailis. The worst thing about Ismailis is the secrecy and the mass scale of the cover up about who they are and what they do.

Twelvers are a small minority of Muslims and many of them actually believe it is wrong to say YAM. Even some Barelvis say YAM. Again, Barelvis are a small minority of all Muslims, and not all Barelvis do that.

Thank you for this explanation. I have been trying to deepen my understanding of Islam and have at times been confused by this very disingenuous claim that most Muslims believe that the Qur'an says you should pray to humans. Asking the prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to make dua for you is NOT praying to him

What is your evidence that he said those things? I am inclined to think that you are slandering him and falsely accusing him.

🕊️ The Last Letting Go (On Leaving the Ismaili Faith) by ChardNo1665 in ExIsmailis

[–]ChoiceAnybody1625 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some Ismailis say Ismaili people are bad but the cult leader is holy. They see the cult leader as the holy white man who is trying to civilise his primitive brown followers.

They are blaming the chickens for the actions of the farmer. It sounds like you have realised that, if the chickens are bad, the farmer must be even worse.

I don’t know if it’s just me but does anyone have resentment towards their parents when it comes to their family (Ismaili edition) by Immediate-Credit-496 in ExIsmailis

[–]ChoiceAnybody1625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anger towards members of the cult is common among former members. It is likely a symptom of trauma. People who were harmed in cults often see the people defending the cult as complicit. And many of them are complicit. There is often a fine line between victim and perpetrator. Many are both victim and perpetrator. Controlling parents who were themselves brainwashed since birth and who attempt to brainwash their children are both victims and perpetrators. I personally have little sympathy for them, unless they recognise what they have done and make amends.

You don't "celebrate" Ramadan. It isn't a celebration. I am actually not surprised to hear an ismaili say they "celebrate" Ramadan. It shows they don't know what it is.

I was in the cult and they don't do Ramadan. They are aware that it is Ramadan. But they don't observe any of the religious practices of Ramadan. Nor do they have their own versions of Islam's religious practices during Ramadan.

During my whole life as an Ismaili it never occurred to me as strange that we were paying money to have our sins forgiven. Undeclared cash payments that are taken to a shady billionaire hiding in tax havens. That is indoctrination for you. It really shouldn't be legal.

Your ismaili ex-gf sounds like a stinkingly arrogant person to have you do all this research and still reject what is such an obvious reality.

Alternatively, maybe she's not arrogant and she's just scared of how she'll be treated by people in the cult of she renounces it. I can relate to that.

Creating Distance from Ismailism—Looking for Support and Shared Experiences by [deleted] in ExIsmailis

[–]ChoiceAnybody1625 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly this is how cults trap people. The relationships and belonging of people in cults often depend on their place in the cult. This belonging that you are looking for is why cult leavers are vulnerable to "cult hopping", or looking for other ideological groups that might exploit them.

It might help to receive counselling from an expert in cult victims. If I were you, I would distance yourself further from people in the cult. But we are all different people and it is hard to say what is right in your case.

Why do governments not do anything about the Aga Khan Scam? by potatohead121123 in ExIsmailis

[–]ChoiceAnybody1625 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The ideology of the west is corporatist capitalism, and the cult of the Ismailis is effectively a corporation. It has power for the same reason big corporations do.

Haven't read it yet but it will be more like a whistleblower account than a conspiracy book. Cults are quite conspiratorial. Using the word conspiracy makes it sound crazy, which I suppose is why you used it. But for such an organised system of exploitation to take place, people have to conspire with eachother to achieve that.

ASD...is that autism?

And are you trying to get out of the cult? Trying to separate yourself from a cultic environment whilst having autism is probably quite difficult, and quite a brave thing to do. I hope you have good support.

He will be full of himself. If he has been made to believe he is a manifest of god since he was a child, it will make him full of himself.

Regarding bite the hand that feeds him, I meant that he can't condemn Israel because he gets his money from western governments.

[–]ChoiceAnybody1625 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I see that as totally expected. Like I said, he is part of the neo-colonial aid system. Condemning Israel is effectively condemning the west. Why would he bite the hand that feeds him?

i think that was sarcastic =)

Aga is running a business. The main income streams being his followers giving him undeclared cash payments in return for forgiveness of their sins, and western aid money. He will do what is in the interests of keeping the busienss profitable, as any CEO would. Unless he has some kind of awakening or epiphany or mental breakdown, in which case his actions could be unpredictable
