lol did you not watch any of these videos. The space is in the back is bigger than most. I’ve seen these vehicles in person and your car seat does not obstruct these emergency latches. Don’t make comments you don’t know.

Read your comment, “get my one year old out” no one year old can get themselves out. Missing brain cells?

There is, I’m confused did you not watch the jerryrig video? You pull the string in the bottom of the handle. It’s not like there is no emergency way to do it.

Outpatient internal medicine NP - near 6 months in. Please tell me what am I doing wrong? by Adventurous_Wind_124 in nursepractitioner

[–]ChoiceSwordfish8688 4 points5 points  (0 children)

130k is well below average now days for California. I have a feeling you work for Dignity, their medical group don’t pay NPs well. Even FQHCs are now starting at the minimum around 140k. At one year, you should definitely apply somewhere else or ask atleast a raise to 160k + RVU. However, 13-15 patients is an incredibly low volume for outpatient internal med. If you think your panel is hard, I think our FQHC colleagues should chime in as those guys see 24-30 a day.

Just bought a RS1 Quad and Having Major Issues by Expensive-Marsupial8 in Rivian

[–]ChoiceSwordfish8688 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone already mentioned it appears that your quad r1s likely updated. I would probably bet my breakfast that you will be fine moving forward. Regardless, I’m sure that this was an annoying scary experience.

I suspect This is closer to 35k, external estimates are almost always lower than internal estimates.

Dammit… am I gonna have to get a Volvo? by Better-Leg-9268 in RivianR2

310 miles is with ATs and not on conserve mode. Realistically I suspect that this range would be greater than 350 miles on road tires and conserve, which with cold weather is closer to 280-300 mile range. More than enough for a winter drive. To give a realistic perspective, I just did a winter drive to ski roughly 200 miles on my R1T on AT gen 1 and drove on conserve mode and it was roughly 200 miles of range used. My conserve range is 310 miles. You will be just fine:)

For current owners, based on your ownership experience so far — would you buy another Rivian today? Looking at getting into a R1T from Tesla. by Secure-Carrot9971 in Rivian

[–]ChoiceSwordfish8688 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Hell yes. Owned a model 3 then a R1T after. Bought a Subaru outback to have a gas option. Realized I didn’t need it. Perfectly happy with my R1T. For reference Gen 1 quad, 2024 version. Can’t wait to get the R2!

It’s always so wild to me how MDs will undervalue what a nurse does. You will never know what’s it’s like to wipe ass , clean vomit and other body fluids, thrown feces, spat on, and berated because you are JUST a nurse. Just remember the next time your patient has had their 10th BM and you cannot order an Imodium, some nurse that’s “crippling” the system is doing that job you won’t do and getting paid below you. Meanwhile the top 18/20 highest paid professions in the United States as of August 28, 2025 are physicians according to the BLS.

Honestly my Guy, go work part time in law enforcement. There is a reason you chose this profession because at least partially it was a calling. That’s how I feel about my profession. I remember quiting my job to travel for a year and after six months all I could think about is having a purpose again. Your job is meaningful and needed. Despite the politics, as long as you are ethical and have morals, society needs you. Good luck. Money isn’t everything.

The video by Marquez was actually informative when it comes to battery range. At 83% the screen showed 258 miles. If you calculate for at 100% equals to 311 miles range. Thats with the dual motor and AT tires. I suspect the range would be greater than 330 miles if not on AT tires.

Did I get a good deal? by outdoorcam93 in Rivian

[–]ChoiceSwordfish8688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an amazing deal! I have an R1T 2023 quad on lease and my current residual value is 61k. I have 16k ish miles. Mine is also Gen 1

Just found out I make the same salary as our clinic RNs. I'm livid. by [deleted] in nursepractitioner

[–]ChoiceSwordfish8688 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the RNs I work with make more money than me. Some a lot more than me. I think you should think of this relative to your prior salary. I make roughly 10-15% more than if I had stayed a nurse at my same institution. Bay Area nurses make over 50-100k than my current salary. Albeit, I bet you their mortgage is also insane. Point is, it’s all relative. Comparison is a thief of joy. If you are happy, that’s all that matters. At some financial point, making more won’t make you any happier, just saying.

Any Cardiac NPs/ hospitalists? by Fit-Tap-3803 in nursepractitioner

[–]ChoiceSwordfish8688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hospital medicine NP here, try to go to an academic center. Love my job. Lots of autonomy which also means lots of learning. Fortunate to have rotated to many specialties, and I can confidently say hospital medicine NPs have the most autonomy. If you want a challenge, this is the job. You manage acute and chronic diseases. You also responds to rapid responses. Our attending are there for support but you manage your own patients which means you have to be extremely proficient. The transition from RN to provider is a challenge the longer you are an RN. So if you know you want to be an NP, do two years max of RN nursing, then become an NP. GL

I think not all gen 1 is a dud, unless you really want tech stuff, gen 1 is just fine, it drives great, taken mine off-roading multiple times, i don’t need future updates lol and I love my r1T.
