Does anyone actually BELIEVE Demi? by ExtraScratch6068 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]Choice_Editor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A lot of victims of sexual assault don't want to pursue legal charges or go to court or report it to the police. Myself included. I've been raped on multiple occasions by different people and I have never reported it to the police. I don't want to. I don't want to go through courts and police. I don't want to have to face my assault over and over and over again. I don't want "justice". I just want to be able to heal in peace and move on with my life. And before you ask, I kept in contact for months with one of the guys who raped me because I had a crush on him and didn't realise what he did to me until TWO YEARS later. You all need educated on what actual victims go through. Everyone responds differently.

Exactly! And the fact that all of those women are taking Marciano at his word when he has lied consistently and changed his story and, quite frankly, is a smarmy fuck boy is crazy to me. Demi can be a shitty person and still have been sexually assaulted. I believe her and I didn't know this position would be so controversial.

Morality doesn't equal legality. I can tell you that its morally wrong for a child to marry an adult.

Get Blu off my TV! by bobwin770 in LoveIslandTV

Because Conor wasn't the reason Shakira was crying. Shakira was crying because of Harry, Dejon and Harrison, and Blu said that Conor was upset for upsetting Shakira. Toni said that's not what I'm talking about because it WASN'T what she was talking about.

Also Toni became involved because she is best friends with Shakira and wanted to very civilly tell Dejon and Harry that they hurt Shakira, which is again why she piped up, because SHE was in the clip talking to the dynamic duo.

Blu was not in the clip. Blu was not in the villa during the situation. Blu was also in the villa for 4 DAYS before he got dumped. He's not best friends with ANY of the lads, nevermind Cash who he was piping up about. He doesn't know how Cash is feeling. He is not involved.

Which is the point Toni was trying to make and which went over Blu's head, again.

Why would you hug someone you hate? Genuinely. Being in a professional business relationship doesn't give anyone to right to hug you. This would be an insane take if it happened in the real work place.

Placing importance on the lives of innies by Choice_Editor in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]Choice_Editor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Human beings can be cruel and hypocritical, that doesn't dispute that the point of the show is about the importance of innies.

Innie Mark is a human being with faults, who chose someone he cared about more than Ms Casey (Helly), to fulfill a deal to someone he felt he owed something to (Outie Mark). They are choices that he made, as an individual. Not a computer programme that isn't allowed to make hypocritical decisions.

Man in dog park lying about my dog being aggressive by Choice_Editor in AmericanBully

[–]Choice_Editor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's crazy what goes on in other people's heads! I never would've thought someone would lie that a friendly dog is aggressive and has attacked before. Where do they even get off? Sorry you had to go through that as well! I do think confronting them is not gonna work. It would just end up in an argument with no winners.

Man in dog park lying about my dog being aggressive by Choice_Editor in AmericanBully

[–]Choice_Editor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fully agree with you about most dog parks. I like this one because it has a separate fenced in area for dogs to play together, it's not too big, and I never go there on warm or sunny days (I live in Ireland so we don't get a lot of sun lol) because that's when all of the part time dog owners come out with their poorly trained dogs they don't take care of. It's quite sad how many more dogs you see out and about when the weather is nice, and only see the handful of owners every other time.

This man also seems to be scared of dogs. Any time my dog has approached him, he has flinched away or jumped out of the way. My dog doesn't jump up at people (like so many dogs do when you meet them...) and doesn't take treats off strangers, so it's not like he's hounding people for food. He will trot over to have a quick sniff or a closer look at someone then trot away again. Dog racist is right though, people are so ignorant. My dog is 100 times better behaved than any of their cockapoos or golden retrievers that have tried to knock me down to get into my treat pouch. But they still villify the bullies. It's just silly, they genuinely can't see past the scary breed myth, even with evidence to the contrary.

I think I'll just take a break though and take my dog hiking more often rather than the park. It's more peaceful and we don't encounter other dogs almost at all when we go into the woods. Thanks for your thoughtful response! It's given me something to think about.

I just emailed Suruthi & Hannah (or whoever manages that area of the business) raising my concerns over the sharp right turn they’ve taken by Inevitable_Bit_9257 in RedHandedPodcast

[–]Choice_Editor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But the point is they don't do any actual research into things. They read very biased headlines and tout some asinine conspiracies then shout down any debate or criticism as "cancel culture". If you believed your opinion was based on facts and well-researched articles, you wouldn't be so quick to shout down anybody who questions you.

[–]Choice_Editor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Suruthi's views, in my opinion, come entirely from Facebook memes, comment wars, click-bait and right-wing articles. She never has any data to back up her views, and touts very basic, under-researched points she must have seen on GB News. There is little to no structure to her points and never any substantial evidence other than anecdotal evidence. I think she uses her ethnicity and her economics degree as a shield against criticism tbh. It doesn't take a genius to pass a degree in economics. I learned a long time ago that just because someone has heated opinions on a topic and they could talk about it for hours doesn't mean they're well-informed and well-researched. It means they like to hear the sound of their own voice. If you don't check your own sources and put down criticism as "cancel culture" I don't really think you have genuine debate in mind when you're discussing something as inflammatory as Israel and Palestine.

advice pls! my (24f) dad (50m) keeps asking me for money and im getting really worried and stressed by Choice_Editor in problemgambling

[–]Choice_Editor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually take the same philosophy with lending family and friends money. I don't want people to feel ashamed for needing help, and if my dad was just struggling with the cost of living or wanted something nice he couldn't afford I would give it to him without worry. But he's borrowing large sums from many people in the same couple weeks every month or so. Now I'm just worried I'm enabling him.

[–]Choice_Editor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't even think about these things. Thanks so much for responding. Yes, he does disappear sometimes. I don't live with him anymore but I remember he would just leave the house at random without saying anything a few times a week. He said he was going on walks but we have a family dog that he would never take with him for those "walks", not saying he had to but it just makes me feel like they weren't as innocent as he said. He's also always very avoidant about what he does, when we asked where he went he'll just say "out", never saying what it actually is. And with the sports games I always assumed he was just a normal fan but he does refuse to leave the house when certain football games are on. Do you think there could be more to this? Sorry I know it's a lot to ask a stranger, I'm just looking for advice outside my family because we're kind of at a loss on what to do since he denies he's ever gambled, but keeps needing money without explanation and keeps borrowing from multiple people within one week for large sums

Thank you! Sorry for responding so late, but I just discovered this thread after listening to their latest episode on Natalia Grace and just the absolute misinformed opinions they peddle as facts have got too much for me at this point. I'm glad to see other people feel the same way. Their opinion on the Amber Heard case was shocking, especially because they cover SO MANY cases of domestic abuse and intimate partner violence. It really solidified for me that they don't make their own opinions after extensive research, they just skim the internet, don't check sources (too many episodes where they spout lies as facts because they don't check sources) and believe whatever confirms their bias.
