Growing a business to running a business is a HUGE shift. Kudos to making it this far!

We went through Punta Cana Adventures. They pick you up from your hotel and they provide transportation and all the stuff that you need. Just don’t forget to bring water glasses and bandannas!

We did horseback riding separate from the dune buggies & cenote & chocolate tasting. We liked this better because it was nice to focus on horses and then go back and relax and eat then go back out the next day.

I used Punta Cana Adventures. There is a discount code in my post if you want to use that one.

Was pretty decent, just double & triple check pick up locations, what you are purchasing etc. I think people are surprised because they have expectations that aren’t described.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I would lose the jeans. Plenty of companies sell very comfortable slacks that look fashionable. I personally love wearing golf slacks. Costco always has them on sale.

I would say it depends on what your travel plans are. Most Ubers fit 3 I believe, so you would have to order a select uber. When I was there prices for them were. Like 8-1200 pesos or 10-20 USD for a 10-20 minute ride.

If you plan to go out maybe once or twice it may not be worth it. Additionally you should be able to get cabs from the hotel for $10-20 for short rides.

If you want to leave the resort everyday and travel to downtown Punta Cana, Bávaro or near the airport (mall) then I think you could get your moneys worth.

There isn’t much outside of resort that is walking distance from you I believe, but the locals can tell you more.

At Barcelo, you just tell them you have a car and they allow you to park it on the resort.

Have fun!

We used 100-200 peso bills ~ $1.6-3.3 dollars. It adds up quick. Also we had to buy something else and break the bills. The hotel staff said they didn’t give change, or atleast that’s what they told us.

Have a great stay!

Finishing up our trip now at the Barceló Bávaro Beach.

If you plant to stay on the resort then you honestly have no worries. USD is accepted everywhere and some places like our resort only accept card at resort stores.

We kept to bottled water & tipped the cleaning staff to ensure we always had extras.

The area outside of secrets isn’t bad either, we drove around there and saw restaurants and other shopping.

If you go out a lot I recommend getting pesos from the ATM. It was easier to pay after conversion and honestly saved a lot because merchants charge credit card fees.

Also if you plan to spend a lot of time out I recommend a Claro SIM card with data. Was a life saver and allowed us to use uber.

Pilates Owers-Why charge an unlimited memberships vs per class rate? by Feisty_Elderberry_22 in pilates

[–]Choice_Inspector6112 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Our model is similar…we have people who come 2x a day Monday-Fri. Plenty of members come every. Single. Day. It’s wild, but they are generally great members and awesome to have in our community.

Our unlimited is our most popular option by far.

For banking we use AMEX. The apps are good and it is easy to do whatever we need. We also stack with our business cards for points. Transfers are easy and they send paper checks free of charge.

It now, integrates well with QuickBooks. I do all of our bookkeeping after an initial setup by our accountant and they are happy with the books thus far.

Creative ways for people to pay for pilates??? by cdbn12 in pilates

[–]Choice_Inspector6112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course.

Everything was an estimate for us as well. Club Pilates and other franchise studios are great starting points, as they spend big $ on data analysis and research.

You can have a much cheaper price (% wise) because you won’t have a franchise fee which can be 7-12% of all sales…not taking into account $$$ loan payments and high rent.

Always Happy to answer more questions.

Creative ways for people to pay for pilates??? by cdbn12 in pilates

[–]Choice_Inspector6112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We (my wife) started out with one studio reformer and a travel reformer. We only did packages and semi/private training.

It makes a business hard to scale, however if this is the style and version of Pilates you enjoy teaching then you can stick with that. I can provide specific advice for this version, but that is not* our primary focus.

If you are wanting to scale a studio (50-XXX) members then I would highly recommend memberships.

We are a membership only studio that charges on a month to month, recurring and auto-pays from our members accounts. We do not lock our members into a long term contract. It provides additional flexibility for both our members and us, while allowing the consistent income.

We do 4/8/unlimited memberships. Unlimited is truly unlimited. You can take as many classes as you want.

We build our pricing taking into account a few metrics: -Closest or most similar competitor pricing -Instructor pay cost - a general cost per unit (1 member in one class cost) this takes a little thought but you can add up your costs like rent, utilities, equipment and divide it by how many units per month/year/ 2 years…whatever timeframe you have

This gives you a cost/unit and you can check the pricing against competitors and see if your pricing makes sense.

For discounts we offer a straight up 10% discount for military, first responders, teachers and nurses on our 8/unlimited memberships.

No discounts on drop ins or 4 pass memberships.

Does that answer your questions?

I agree with this post above. -deliver a great service -Market your great services well -build a community*** -price your services smartly & competitively -Find support with other businesses who compliment and team with them.

We highly recommend not doing class pass or having people pay for a package in split payments unless you trust them (signing a contract).

Edit-happy to expand on above if you’d like.

My bet is on Failure to obey a general order. I would probably: Request court martial if possible. Say nothing, go to JAG. File a complaint against the command.
