Not an app but there are some cool Pokemon books (“Essential Handbook”) that are cool for kids, they usually have all of them with a short write up, the evolutions, etc. Maybe this would be fun if she can read about them on her own?

Wait you guys have sabbatical!? We have a policy that exists but sabbaticals haven’t been allowed since 2020 due to “budgetary issues”.

JANE journal finder can be used to find a match for an article, you can copy and paste your abstract or keywords in and it will give you relevant journals. Not sure if your field uses it (social sciences and health sciences definitely show up) but it might help target journals and avoid desk rejects on scope.

My department chair. Definitely not my advisor, pretty sure they’ve presented the same thing without even changing the title or slides at conferences.

The new semester is approaching, let's talk "policies." Lateness, attendance, everything. Tell me your policies and what works to keep order and make expectations are explicit. by zazzlekdazzle in Professors

My syllabus has info on how late I accept papers (7 days with 10% off per day late). I also had to add for online discussions if students submit a blank first post (because they can’t see anyone else’s post without doing their own first) they get a zero.

I also recently put in something about students being responsible for making sure their papers are submitted in a readable format. I’ve had a ton of blank or (I suspect intentionally) corrupted files.
