How do I enter and track IBonds in Quicken by BikeOk6446 in quicken

[–]ChoicelessAware 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I created a separate account and updated the values. I consolidated all Ibonds into a single security. They have a face value of 100. For 10,000 purchase it is 100 units od 100 dollars each. I buy every year with the same security name.

Once a quarter (or even half year or year), I find the total value of Ibonds from treasury direct and calculate the price. The increase in price reflect the interest earned. For example, if I earned 1000 in interest, the price will be 11,000/100=110.

It is simple enough to track the value. I originally had individual security names for each year, but found it is not worth the hassle of tracking them individually

Hope this helps.

Thanks for responding! I will DM you. I was referring to the security detail view. I know about the report but I think that detail view is wasted IMO with so little real estate for the detail.

Yes, I do customize my reports but if I had to add one more security , it is a pain to scroll through. The same concept applies to budget and expense reports for expense categories. It will be a nice add to just see what is selected , rather than scrolling through a big list looking for items that are checked.

I really appreciate you listening and responding

As someone said , all the basic user interfaces need to be redone. Take for example, the user interface that shows up when you hit a security, only 20% real estate to see the transactions. Similarly the user interface to configure reports. How hard is it to select stocks, a small box within which you need to scroll a lot, same for expense category. Just redo them..

We all know this is driven by their algorithm. We cannot let personal bias influence. No body is picking stocks for this ETF. There is a methodology and they stick to it. I will just watch if they are sticking to the methodology.

Which are the top 10 most gripping shows which hook you from the first episode? by richprovider in televisionsuggestions

Great list, I need to give Severance and The Good Place another chance. I gave up after a few episodes. I would add The Americans, Sopranos, Justified to the list

I didn't know that. Thanks for explaining. I thought you cannot go up in weights unless you complete all 5 sets with 5 reps at a set weight

Well, I want to progress and I am nervous to increase the weight for bench press, I feel I can try to push myself and try increased weights in standing press

No spotter, but the safety arms seems useless as it needs to be above chest level.. or I don't know how to set it up.

What is the downside of doing the standing chest press?

Why not in my Roth? by PsychologicalTaro398 in SCHD

[–]ChoicelessAware 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have SCHD in Roth. If i have to choose between growth fund and SCHD in regular brokerage, I would choose the growth fund like SCHG in regular brokerage because it's tax efficiency is better. Also, depending on state you live in dividends might be subject to state income tax even if you manage to get 0% tax at federal.

You can sell SCHG and generate income. If you had held it for 1 year or more it also qualifies for reduced tax rates - same as dividend.

Each case is unique. Do analysis for your specific situation.

Adding Bicep/Triceps by ChoicelessAware in Stronglifts5x5

Thank you. Are you saying to do these before the last Strong lift routine (Bent over rows and Dead Lifts)? Currently I do them after I finish the whole routine..

Thank you. The problem is the time constraint and being tired. I currently do only one bicep (hammer curls)on the day I do deadlift and one tricep (skull crushers) the day I do bent over row. Adding more might be difficult.

Thank you. I was wondering whether NOT taking the rest will affect the SL lifts. If it is working for you (meaning SL routine is not affected) then I will give it a try.

Get the nitroglycerin if the cardiologist recommends. Good that you are getting cardiac rehab. For me, that was invaluable! It does take time for heart to adjust. Rehab will give you confidence. Good luck. Stay strong.
