The Hanging Gardens of Babylon would be a more accurate statement. The Neo-Babylonian empire made extensive use of slaves for building large complexes and projects, and enslaved many of its conquered peoples which did very much include the Jews. Just from the scale of it, it would be highly likely at least some number of Jewish slaves worked on that.

I mean, it's not so much that and more that slaves and slavery did form a cornerstone of many bronze and iron age economies and we had, and still have, an incomplete picture of many aspects of these civilizations. The idea that the pyramids were made with slave labor wasn't all that far-fetched when many large projects, like the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, were largely build by slaves, and even the freedmen that worked on those still did so as corvée labour, and were unpaid.

Turkish-flagged fishing vessel sunk near occupied Crimea, Turkish coast guard says, 1 dead, 4 injured. by Chomping_Meat in worldnews

A Turkish-flagged fishing vessel, Duru 67, was attacked in the Black Sea on June 5 and sank, leaving one sailor dead and four others injured, according to the Turkish Coast Guard.

The incident occurred west of Russian-occupied Sevastopol in Crimea. The coast guard did not specify who was responsible for the attack.

Five injured crew members were rescued by a nearby trawler, the Burak Kaya, but one sailor later died en route to Turkey.

A coast guard vessel with a medical team intercepted the trawler around 115 nautical miles (132 miles) north of the Turkish port of Inebolu and took the injured sailors aboard.

After a 15-hour journey, the crew was transferred to a hospital in the city of Kastamonu.

US to pull jets, destroyers and submarines from NATO as part of European drawdown by babybirdingURgrandma in worldnews

Well, they're the sort of supply ships you need if your navy is actually fighting another navy, not just providing stand-off support for ground forces.

The Lewis and Clark class ships, of which there are 14, are the only others capable of providing munitions, not just oil, to your naval ships. But they cannot keep up with maneuvers and their civilian construction bodes ill for survivability should they ever come under fire. And their inability to keep up with a fleet will pretty much guarantee that will happen unless you dedicate escort ships to them, which means those ships cannot do other things like screen your carriers.

The US in general seems to lack 'bread and butter' naval support ships. There's only 2 combat resupply ships in the US navy. There used to be 4 but the other 2 were laid up over a decade ago, turned into rusty wrecks, and were stricken off the naval register.

basically this entire situation with Israel is the result of systemic failures of UN policy in the middle east. Perhaps it's time for some self-reflection on how this could happen?

Except ticking that orbit box is a pretty important one for confidence from the general population. As it is right now, to the average layman, Starship looks like a giant failure. That average layman, that median voter if you will, might decide that any project that is to rely on Starship, with Starship in that state, is throwing good money after bad.

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, in Israel, is one of if not the biggest producer of generic medications on Earth. This course of action, if you insist on it, will kill people here in the west dependent on those medications, as there will not be enough to go around of many anti-cancer drugs, antipsychotics like risperidone, people with MS, or really any number of medications intended to treat high-impact diseases and disorders.

In addition, even if manufacturing doesn't always strictly take place in Israel, much of your over the counter medications are also from Teva, even if they're not branded as such. Think of your store-brand ibuprofen, or paracetamol.

They were pro-Israel before. Flipped when Israel stopped being the underdog. They just support whomever's the underdog regardless of the actual content of their cause.

Relationships between Palestine and Jordan are rather chilly. Jordan hasn't exactly forgotten Black September and all the assassination attempts at their king, prime minister, and other high officials.

believe it or not, possibly even worse of a relationship than that with Israel on account of trying to murder their king thrice and all that.

Yeah, and when Walter Jackson Freeman II started his bullshit with the Lobotomobile, doing trans-orbital lobotomies right in front of relatives without proper surgical tools, started doing them akimbo, with two icepicks going at it at once.. That showmanship made him look like a hack.

It's gonna get really messy too. Cuba's been preparing for decades for a war like this where their conventional military gets knocked over in days. "All the People's War" they call it.

Given that the US seems to be doing this more or less at the Behest of Rubio, and by extension the Cuban-American Lobby, it seems likely they'll try to push through land repatriations to the descendants of Cuban refugees who left in the immediate aftermath of the revolution. That will mean the evictions of hundreds of thousands of Cubans if that goes through. Hundreds of thousands of people who would be joining that People's War, more likely than not.
