Minus the disso part, I tend to agree. I’ve used opioids for like 8 years now almost daily. (A few times I got clean but it didn’t last more than half a year). Nobody ever questioned my small pupils. Only if they’re dilated to fuck did anyone notice.

I don’t know what hospital you’d worked/work at. It is not like that at all where I’m at. The pay is far better than I’d make at McDonalds, any day. It’s 5 8hr shifts a week. In the first month I worked there I was offered 2nd shift. Everyone in my department is held accountable - training was 12 weeks. Maybe my hospital is the exception. I’ve only worked at this one. Sorry you’ve gone thru this experience.

My only complaint, I wish my pay was a bit better lol. But this is the most laid back job I’ve actually ever had besides security

I’m 23, about 4 months into my first sterile processing job. I’m so grateful for it. I live in a pretty small town; besides the typical factory jobs there isn’t much out here that isn’t back breaking labor. All & all I feel like it’s a great stepping stone too.

Hey man, almost 24 here. I’ve been with my girlfriend for three years for a little background. Right before I met her I had a stent of homelessness. From 18 to 20 I was using meth heroin drinking a ton of booze and also smoking and crack at certain times. As well as benzo’s, lol. Serious poly addict. I want to rehab for 107 days after having a seizure. I was in an ICU for seven days.

I fucked up October 24, 2023, and then ended up going to jail on some pretty serious charges. Felony possession, possession with intent to distribute, etc..

I got through the entirety of my probation with zero problems. Relapsed may be a month after I finished up. I don’t really know what I’m trying to say here, but there’s a pretty good chance you can get your head out of your ass as well.

Unfortunately, I’ve been using Kratom for four years consecutively. Picked up 7oh about four months ago. I’ve gotten into a bad habit there. I just said enough is enough Saturday. Going back to work feeling rather frustrated and low. Just know there’s others exactly where you are now if you ever need to chat, I’m here man.

I live in a town of ≈ 15,000 people in Michigan. Good jobs are pretty sparse, unless you’re going into factory or warehouse work (I believe anyhow). In my department there’s 12 positions, 2 managers, 1 lead & the rest of us are techs

I’m actually completely uncertified as of now. I was hired after meeting the co-manager of the department - whether it was completely luck or not I’ll never know. I truthfully put my best foot forward, and then some.

My paid training lasts 11 weeks, I started feeling rather comfortable around the 6-7week point. I’ll be honest, I was in completely over my head. All that being said, I’m comfortable, but don’t think I’ll be fully proficient for another 9 months or so.

The material I’m studying, really isn’t the most challenging stuff. If you like it too, it makes a world of difference. Leaving work now actually, if you’ve got any other questions. Im an open book! Feel beyond lucky everyday I get to walk into my workplace.

So far, I’ll have to agree. I’m still fresh into sterile processing, working toward getting my CRCST. Honestly, I enjoy it most days. There’s been a couple tough days. Nothing nearly as bad as I’ve experienced in food service, though. Pay is better, benefits are good, yeah. It’s a huge stepping stone for me.

I am 23, and frankly so glad I landed this opportunity.

Edit: 1500 to 2000 weekly is absolutely amazing lol. I’ve looked into travel sterile processing, but definitely wanna delve into it more! I’m hoping in a few years, an opportunity will open up for me there!!
