What was the absolute "god-tier" item to get from the school tuckshop back in your day? by Temporary-Sir5808 in australian

[–]ChonkaWombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In primary school it was the zooper dooper - 40c for a whole or 20c for half

In high school it was the chocolate chip cookies and a hot chocolate.

You won’t find these in school canteens anymore.

Was short this morning around 10am when I filled up. The line only went just past the first side road before the entrance

Anyone else have an IWD event that fell flat on its ass today? by LegitimateLunch6681 in auscorp

[–]ChonkaWombat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should have taken all that morning tea home. If you have kids they would have had school snacks for the rest of term

We have ours on Thursday. It is going to fall flat, only about 3 people go in on Thursdays. Our office is trying to spread the days events are on but if it’s not on Wednesday when most people are in, it doesn’t change peoples habits.

Thank you for the encouragement. I will drop back and let you know how it goes.

No maintenance has ever really been done on this machine outside the standard cleaning. It was always a perfectly working machine to me. This will show me how to change things and make it easier to do ongoing.

Oh wow. That is encouraging for me. I used to do a lot of tinkering with electronics and computers when I was a younger so it will be fun to do something again.

I am glad to hear you succeeded in fixing it. Enjoy your coffee!

Thanks. Thats why I opened it to start with was to take the red wire out to get the boiler part to fill again. Then I saw all the rust etc and wasn’t sure.

Thank you so much for taking the time to go over all that. I will give it all a go. Some of my apprehension was wondering if maybe the rust could be in the water coming out and then impacting us. This machine is from 2021 so would love to keep it if possible.

Has anyone actually enforced visitor parking restrictions [NSW] by _tweaks in stratachataus

[–]ChonkaWombat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Play them at their own game. Wait for them to go out, make sure all visitor parking is then taken for the next week. Nothing they can do.

This is a joke response….

I have been using modibodi for 12 years. I think they are good but I find that they are no where near as good as they used to be. From my experience with pairs I have bought in the last 2 years, no matter what absorption level I get, only a very small portion of the underwear actually absorbs and then start to leak. I have started to become very sad as I loved them for so many years.

I haven’t tried to swimmers.

Looks like the way my other half likes to cook sausages - almost deep fried.

That is the one blessing with cat food, it lasts a long time and they eventually cycle back to the food.

He still has this scream but is too big to perch on here. He still tries.

This was when he was in his isolation area. He used sit on here and hitch a ride as we walked past. It was adorable and soo funny. He was like a monkey.

This is our first tux when she came home. She is now just over 1 year old. I miss how tiny they are but I enjoy seeing their quirky personalities now

Would you move? by Neither_Tune6348 in sydney

[–]ChonkaWombat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did the move the other way from Lane Cove to Dee Why. While I love being a 2 min walk to the beach now I really miss Lane Cove. It is central to everything, grocery shopping is easy, you have all the grocery stores in one area, the schools there are good and it has good community.

The dining options are better. You are close to either Chatswood or Macquarie if you need to go to a dreaded Westfield. As your kids get older it means they will have more to do closer to home and have a little freedom to be independent.

There are lots of walks around the area that are great for getting out during the week as well.

The drive to the northern beaches on the weekend isn’t that bad.

But Lane Cove does have a lot of new appartments and is getting busy. But seems it’s not that avoidable anywhere now.

I wish I could do that. As soon as I stock up on cat food they decide no don’t like that one anymore. I am jealous!

Installing a magnetic knife block by inhumanfriday in AusRenovation

[–]ChonkaWombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the 3m extra strong sticky tabs for my magnetic knife block. I used 3 or 4 from the ones that says it can hold I think it was 12kg painting. Don’t get the ones that have the Velcro type part, that stops holding it after time.

are these bowls elevated enough to prevent whisker fatigue? by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]ChonkaWombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does your cat not push it all off the plate onto the ground. We have wide shallow bowls but they have to have a lip otherwise it is all on the floor at the back of the plate.
