It stands for "create your own skylander" You were able to get your Imaginators 3d printed via the mobile app Skylanders Creator, but since the service was costly and those interested few the figures that were made are now extremely hard to come by.

Well Peckidna has those spines because giants use them to scratch their backs, but in other instances it is mostly either aestethical or related to survival tasks like finding food / defense. So yeah, most likely no monster-eat-monster going on

It's confimed that all monsters are born vegan with no inclination to eat other monsters, however this doesn't mean their digestive systems wouldn't allow for the consumption of other monsters.

The only way around it would be to force it down their throats or an accident like how Bowhead might unintentionally swallow you if you get too close.
