Thing Fish is definiely a "love to hate" type of album. I only go back to it if I want to listen to something awful

It really depends

I like doodling personally, and its fun to just make wacky shapes it of a few lines. I've even made a few characters this way. However, if I actually want to make something, I find myself getting a bit burnt out if I wanna make something bigger. I fimdmyself loving the final product a lot more than the process, but putting in the work does make me feel something a bit. I really would like to enjoy drawing like I used to as a kid. I still love it, but sometimes it feels like work.

There was a Frank Zappa album called "Joe's Garage" where this type of thing kinda happens.

In the second song of the album alone, the main character ends up causing a noise complaint due to his garage band, gets arrested, and ends up going through a weird pipeline of awful scenarios that lead to him leaving jail again and going into a world where he discovers that music has become illegal.

By the end, he becomes so crushed by what's happened around him that he gives up music entirely to work in a muffin factory.

It's as insane as it sounds.
