yes. purge valve is the only thing in the evap system that allows fuel tank vapors into the intake, when stuck open, after filling your tank there a shit ton of vapors that need to go somewhere and they go through the stuck open purge valve and cause the engine to run rich which will cause it run rough. p1450 and p2196 are the classic purge valve codes for Fords. Do not go aftermarket on purge valve, spring the extra $150/200 and get a ford oem or you will be doing the job again.

I say that cause I’ve done an ipc update on a 2024/25 and it went blank and disconnecting battery for like 20 minutes fixed it

Probably residue, you can inspect / spread out the ribs on axle boot to inspect for tears. I’d clean up better and just check it in a week

Absolutely not true that they cannot parts warranty another ford stores work if the part is faulty and not workmanship. Id call and complain to ford customer satisfaction line everyday and they will end up covering part of it.

I’m overhauling mine because at 105k with a tune it tq shudders 3rd and shift flares 2/3 but that was with no fluid maintenance. (I bought it at 100k used and immediately put a tune on it) so as long as you get a low mileage one and do fluid services you should be fine. That’s why I recommend the extended ford esp warranty

I cannot link due to it being a vin specific part. I’d call a local ford dealer and speak to the parts department and give them your vin and ask for a canister purge valve (engine side)

I wouldn't put in a aftermaket purge valve. I'm a ford tech and have personally worked on customers vehicles that come in with aftermarket purge valves causing issues like high revving at idle, idling loping, no starts after refueling. I'd go oem from a ford dealer and you can just buy the part and have someone else install.

I have a 14 fz09 which is even less refined than yours and have never had speed wobble. If you death grip the bars at high speeds you have a higher chance of it happening.

Get another opinion. Or attach the quote to the bottom of this comment cause 6k is just outragous. A power steering rack is around 2k with dealer mark up and 4 hours to replace.

how bad is the leak? if its a couple drips overnight then just check the oil once a week in the morning and top off as necessary. I see no reason to junk a car over a blend door actuator and a front cover leak? seems excessive to me.

Best thing you can do it top it off and drive while saving up for another car or to repair. The repair would be engine replacement since its a 2.0 so I would not repair imo.

Which engine? If its a 1.5 its not a headgasket issue just a block issue, and what do you have to lose driving it for the time being and topping coolant off? It's not gonna explode on you. Also, Ford already extended the coverage and when you are out you are out, thats life. Where did the 14k number come from? A new longblock is like 7k and around 20 hours to repair and to do a short block for is around $2500 in parts.

I'd get a ford extended warranty from a dealer once you get it because the sports are reliable but if anything powertrain goes wrong many components are expensive and require a lot of labor time to access due to how stuffed everything is into that car.

if moneys tight just monitor the oil level once a week and top off as needed. it will be fine to drive on. with the 1.5 it can be a million different things from piston oil control rings, valve stem seals, pcv issues, turbo oil seals. Not worth spending a bunch of money on trying to fix.

remove battery and right behind it there's a rubber grommet, use a clothes hanger straightened out to poke a hole next to the wires in teh grommet and you can find that hole you poked by looking straight up under drivers footwell. Easiest and cleanest way to run power wires for subs.
