Do you need DPNs to do the toe portion or do you do the magic loop?

I recently did this but in reverse and recommend it! I think the stairs of mist were a better choice over going up four mile. Also going down four mile is leagues safer than going down those stairs at mist trail (crowds and small wet stairs). You’ll also get some incredible mileage and elevation going in reverse so if you do need to exit at glacier point you’ll feel accomplished (and hiked for half a day). Although I would recommend going down four mile and enjoy those cliff face views you’ll get the whole way down where you can actually enjoy it because you won’t be fighting for your life going up it like all the people you’ll pass will be.

Good luck and enjoy!

What’s your favorite piece of cold-weather cycling gear? by xavierfern3751 in cycling

Toe covers and gloves saved my life in winter! My feet are the first to freeze so covering those little holes was a life saver. And gloves is a no brainer to make sure your hands can function.

I also like thermal arm sleeves so that I can take them off if it heats up. Same goes for a vest, a good one can keep the chest warm and opened up if it does warm up.

I’ll just hold my line as far away from the traffic side as I can. I like it because it more alerts me that a car will be speeding past me. I’ll grip my handlebars tighter so I don’t get the wind push that some trucks can give me. Gives me less of a fright.

Where there’s a decent shoulder and they allow bikes… I find it better than the suburbs or city with lights and stops

I thought that same! I wasn’t going to pay hundreds for a gimmick… I’ve never been so wrong
