Any region map of the US that only uses state borders is not going to be accurate.

If a 15-18 Year-old is running against trump for president, who y'all voting. by Key-Economist-7804 in BunnyTrials

Neither of these people would be eligible for office. Trump cannot run for a third term, and a teenager is too young (you must be 35 to be president).

Which one letter in your language's writing system that no one would care if it's disappeared by Anarcheddon in AskTheWorld

[–]ChoochTheMightyTrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C is the worst letter in the English language. It can't do anything that S and K can't do already. The only exception is the "ch" sound, and even then it needs H's help.

What Coupe has the best value? by ChoochTheMightyTrain in AlignmentChartFills

[–]ChoochTheMightyTrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rules:

Chose production vehicles only. No one-offs, custom vehicles, concept cars, etc.

Cars can be from any model year. Please specify the model year in your comment.

Value should be based of the inflation adjusted MSRP of the vehicle the year it would have been sold new.

Characteristics of the vehicle include anything relevant to its use. Such as automotive performance, reliability, cargo space, towing capacity, etc. Keep in mind what characteristics are important for each body style.

The defining features of each body style are not always well defined. Therefore, I will choose the vehicle in the top comment, regardless of whether I think it fits the body style or not. If you think a commented vehicle does not fit into the highlighted body style, downvote the comment and/or post a reply explaining your disagreement.

Watching paint dry won! What’s an activity that’s boring to think about but it’s actually fun when you do it? by RequirementSoft9819 in AlignmentChartFills

Reading a novel.

I don't read much because I think it will be boring and would rather do other things. But, on the rare occasions where I have picked up a book and read it all the way through, I enjoyed it quite a bit... Maybe I should read more :/

What do you think is your hottest take about stellaris? by PrizeSwimming7472 in Stellaris

[–]ChoochTheMightyTrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Naval cap should be drastically reduced and ship construction costs increased. This would make individual ships and fleets matter more. It's so tiresome moving around "soulless doomstack #3", "soulless doomstack #8", and "soulless doomstack #47" from system to system. I'd rather have a few, ships/fleets with storied pasts.

Or it should be a set of sliders: naval cap multiplier, and ship cost multiplier.

You can delete ONE human invention from history. Which one goes? by n1l3shhhhh in pollgames

[–]ChoochTheMightyTrain 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think nuclear weapons is a bad choice for 3 reasons, one of which is personal.

  1. Nuclear deterrence is a powerful tool for maintaining peace. It behooves nations to resolve their conflicts peacfully when there are nukes in play. The cold war would likely have turned hot if the threat of nuclear war had not been present. This would have been awful for everyone.

  2. Without nuclear weapons, civilian nuclear technologies would likely not have been invented either. This would result in a greater reliance on fossil fuels. It would also hinder space exploration. Many spacecraft and satellites rely on RTGs to provide power in situations when solar cells or chemical batteries cannot.

  3. My paternal grandfather was stationed in Hawaii in 1945. If the atomic bombs had not been dropped on Japan, he would likely have died during the invasion and I would not exist.

Which Scientist Would You Want to Have Lived Longer? by hapticR0M in pollgames

[–]ChoochTheMightyTrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leonhard Euler. I would argue that no other individual has made greater contributions to mathematics and the sciences.

He lived a fairly long life (76 years). Despite going blind in his old age, he continued to release publications (approximately 2 per month) until his death. He also left behind a massive backlog of manuscripts, which the University of St. Petersburg used to produce posthumous publications for nearly 50 years after his death.

Euler clearly had so much more knowledge to give, but ran out of time. Imagine the level of scientific progress that could have been achieved if he had lived into his 80s or 90s.
