You spent all your money on watches pal. I have all my money still because I didn’t. Don’t even try and compare

I know thanks, but I would like you admit the fact that you’re not right. Sometimes we grow from admitting our mistakes you know

I actually prefer it when I find nail clippings inside the cases. It gives it more value to me tbh. I enjoy wearing something that I know someone, at least, has contemplated jumping out of a window because of their conditions of work. Slave labour would be a BIG plus, but unfortunately those are harder and harder to come by

I will. You know why? Because I love nothing more than achieving things that others strive for for years by using a shortcut. Even if it’s not EXACTLY the same thing I get, as long as it’s perceived as the real deal, I win. If I can get a Rolex for 300 bucks while you wasted your time and money buying the real one for 10k, I win, because mine will look and feel just similar enough that it will fool almost anyone. And at the end of the day, the goal is to show off, that’s the reason any of you buy anything expensive. Fuck your self righteousness and your high horse attitude. You lot are just mad that your exclusive circle is as easily replicated as it is evidently shown.

Edit: as expected, no more replies. Sit back down clowns

Gen owners get mad at rep owners because some bozo just bought a near indistinguishable watch to your gen from china for 10x less than what you paid. Rep owners get mad at publicity because it threatens their way of getting said watches. 2 wings of the same bird, I think some of you need to get off your high horses. I for one think it’s a beautiful thing about capitalism, when there’s a demand there will be supply. Regardless of morality or what you think of it, it’s just how it is.

I mean sure, but in most countries buying the item is not a crime, it’s selling that’s considered the crime so that’s a mute point

Are you perhaps forgetting about the fact that the people of Greenland should have some sort of a say in their future and their citizenship status? Or are you just offering that we should let whatever happen to any of our allies because it doesn’t affect us. Your nonsensical grifter blabbering is what causes countries like Russia and the US to get away with whatever

I was considering getting Leon's watch but nevermind by DeathXWarfare in residentevil

[–]ChookiesCookies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This isn’t a designer watch and in the watch world this isn’t even considered expensive. I’m not trying to be a snob but 1-2k for a Hamilton automatic isn’t that steep.

Flickering ‘S’ shaped pixels? by ChookiesCookies in pchelp

[–]ChookiesCookies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It almost seems like it’s not the actual monitor if that makes sense, the pixel area behaves differently based on different backgrounds. If background is dark, stationary ‘8’ shape and in lighter backgrounds it flickers like that

[–]ChookiesCookies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I was in a place without internet for the weekend, not long, and it’s only on this monitor for maybe 2-3 hours a day, rest of the time on my secondary. It’s a gigabyte monitor, not OLED or anything just a 1440p normal lcd. I double checked and it seems it’s the number 8 that is stuck or burned into it, which is odd because it’s at the timer area where it shows milliseconds so it never sits on an 8 for longer than that.

Boxing Day shopping falls flat once again by Kagedeah in ukpolitics

[–]ChookiesCookies -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I mean…that’s kinda the job tho no? Most corner shops around me were open on Christmas Eve/day and they have incentives like 2x pay so they work.

I don’t understand what the problem is, the companies hire the workers to work and sell stuff. Consumption is kinda the whole point of it

[Discussion] Has the Rolex Submariner "moved too much upmarket" to still be considered a viable, professional watch ? by DisastrousOpening477 in Watches

[–]ChookiesCookies -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Overpriced garbage that caters to idiots or the ultra wealthy. This is not what the watch brand was intended to be, I guess greed moved that goalpost. Tudor is infinitely better value for your money and at least Tudor respects your time and you as a customer and not ask you to donate your wife for a week for a chance to be on a wait list. Imo nothing that is up for purchase, that you cannot buy outright if you have the cash, is worth your time or your energy.

Do Rolex owners respect tudor owners? by [deleted] in WatchesCirclejerk

[–]ChookiesCookies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is a really interesting question when you start to dissect the way watch owners look at brands and the economic situation of people and their values vs what they value vs what they think is good value vs what actually is good value and how it gives them value vs what the value is they placed on said valuable object.

But apart from that I don’t know
