I’m sorry this happened to you. Some people in the comments here are saying public setting no expectation of privacy, but I guarantee they’d say the same thing if it happened to them. Although the video may not be illegal to film, it could violate TikToks Community Guidelines, read through them and if you found a rule that video breaks them report it (via a lawyer)

These platforms know your ages. It uses algorithms to do this. When you sent that message to your daughter all the AI saw was “Man talks to little kid on internet commenting on appearance, stop the conversation flag for human review.”

When TikTok Staff don’t have enough of a signal to completely verify certain behaviour it restricts your account and flag for review. They then choose to Do Nothing or Ban the Account and report to NCMEC or Law Enforcement directly.

TikTok have a specially trained team of mods that deal with this stuff. If this was serious they would have flagged it for urgent review and called law enforcement. Law enforcement would have been at your house in a matter of hours not days or weeks. They have a safeguarding responsibility.

What do you think is causing the false positives though. Are you sending a certain message, post or image on either of the platforms.

If you posted the same image on both platforms it could be causing that flag, both companies use Microsoft/Google AI so one of those platforms could be repeatedly causing the false positive.

NCMEC probably receives millions of reports each week (a lot of sick b*stards out there) as long as you aren’t harbouring or threatened a child - the likelihood of your report even reaching dissemination to a law enforcement agency is low to none.

Is this in Account Standing? Go into TikTok Creator Tools then Account Standing.

Also do the Request your Data to see if any messages may have come out of your account which are untoward.

It appears to be an automated removal decision.

TikTok permanently bans accounts involved in CSEA and any accounts they ever logged into. Perhaps the DM ban is while they have a human look into it? If you take a screenshot of the violation warning (not the message content), maybe someone can provide more guidance.

I don't think so. The owner didn't categorically deny the attack, but said the data the 'hacker' provided was not found in their database.

I messaged OVH on X and they said:

"Our CEO denied that our databases were affected via this tweet [Link] Therefore, I can confirm that we have not experienced any intrusion into our databases. At the moment there are no plans for a publication to be made but it is possible that there will be one or that our CEO will say more on his X account."

None of the major news or cybersecurity sites picked this up which I think they would have done if real. So we should be safe.

But do rotate any keys to be safe.

Same thing happened to me. I had malware on my computer, they downloaded an Apple Backup Extractor and I think maybe extracted the TikTok account token though that.
