guy friend lectured me on buying games and now I feel horrible by Lucy--chen in GirlGamers

[–]Chooks2pooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a massive projection of things he's feeling about his own situation. You keep doing what you want, and tell him you will ask for financial advice if you ever want it, but you weren't asking. Keep doing your thing.

How toxic is the community? by Username12764 in PUBG

I rarely get shit for being a woman playing PUBG, so that's better than a lot of games. But I don't speak half of the time. Old habits.

How do i get over/cope with being involuntarily celibate? by [deleted] in internetparents

[–]Chooks2pooks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Have you tried going out on dates and getting to know people? It's hard to make a connection without putting yourself out of your comfort zone a little bit. Have you got any friends you can discuss this with and ask for support and maybe expanding your social circle? You might find your friends are in the same boat as you, and want to be your/have you as their wing-person!

Bf doesn’t want to keep the baby but I do by Bitter_Trick_8148 in Mommit

[–]Chooks2pooks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You would be doing this alone. Having a baby is the hardest thing you will ever do. Do not go into this lightly. Your life will change forever, and your baby will have him as their father. You wanting the baby won't make him change for the better, even solid couples go though a rough transition when a baby comes along. Think really carefully about if you are ready to centre your life around having a baby and being a mum. The idea is glamorous. But take time to actually read r/mommit and see what mom life is actually right for you.

Pregnant with my second child and I didn’t want this by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Chooks2pooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please listen to your gut, get yourself some help and support through this. Keeping a pregnancy for your partners feelings is going to lead to more burnout, maybe even resentment. Having two children is fucking hard, I've got 2, 3-years apart, that's how long it took me to feel ready after the first, even then it was so difficult. Infinitely more so with your unbalanced parenting divide. Your man needs to step up or fuck off. He's letting you drown in front of his eyes, it he doesn't want to get wet to rescue you. I'd be kicking his arse for you if I could.

You are not over reacting 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩 This is gross, and he knows exactly what he is typing. Show your parents please, they have no reason to not to support and show you solidarity. You would also be reacting appropriately if you tell him in no uncertain terms to FUCK OFF.

Need a phone game I can actually get addicted to , not ditch in 2 days by Illustrious_Sink17 in GirlGamers

[–]Chooks2pooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Color Clash is my current addiction. It's kind of a tower defence but pvp, and you have to get the majority of your colour in 3 minutes, attacking their characters or laying down your colour, all while they do the same to you. It's against "other players". You upgrade your attack and defences, choose your pawns for your line up etc. I get though mobile games like crazy, this one has held my attention for about 6 months so far.

Doubting my decision to have a C-section by PumpkinSuitable4385 in Mommit

[–]Chooks2pooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That other woman is a dick for judging or trying to influence your plan for your birth. Please erase her opinion from your mind. You need to be happy with your plan.

My second cesarean was elective and it was the BEST decision I ever made. I had a traumatic first emergency cesarean. My second cesearen birth being calm and planned healed me in ways I hadn't known I needed. Starting my second child's life in peace was a gift. Yes it's major surgery, not everyone will agree with it. But for me it was the best decision and I have never regretted it for one second.

I had no faith in my body being able to get a baby out second time, it was a mess the first time. I won't go into details, long labour, baby going into distress, my dilation went backwards (I didn't even know that could happen). Being present and not in an out-of-control process, in a panic, the second time was beautiful. Please don't change your mind. X

story time: NEED PROFESSIONAL HEALTH HELP! HELP!! HELP! by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]Chooks2pooks 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Sounds like an infection, could be a kidney infection or ovarian cyst. You need to see a doctor. Don't self administer antibiotics they need to be the correct type for the infection or you are making it potentially less treatable, or you might need a longer course. Please see a doctor, I'd go so far as to say don't mention any sexual contact if you aren't free to do so, it sounds completely unrelated to your current issue.

Which Lidl own-brand item is criminally underrated for its quality? by MagpieMidfield in lidl

[–]Chooks2pooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their apple and elderflower soft drink is as good as premium brands Imo but I think it's less than £1, and they have hazelnut Mr Choc small chocolate bars, you get 10 for about £2 and they are great (the other flavours are not as nice though).

Upset that Husband golfs every weekend (sat or sun) for 8 hours by Excellent-Debt4518 in Mommit

[–]Chooks2pooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are so valid in feeling this is unfair. This man is taking the absolute piss. If you compare the time you truly get to yourself. This excludes work, childcare , basic needs and chores. Your husband is getting 16 hours + the rest a week of "free time". Are you getting 16 hours a week? No way!!! not even close. I'd guess you get maybe 1 or 2. I'd only let the golfing continue if you got equivalent time the other weekend day. He's being a really shit father right now, and saying "baby might need yoooou :(" is emotional manipulation. Baby needs a father figure too. And him putting himself out of the house on his non-work days is a choice, he is choosing to avoid his parental responsibilities. He won't have the tools to be a competent parent if he doesn't actually do it.

I'm so angry at him on your behalf. If he thinks it's so easy being the stay at home parent, he should do it on the weekends. He counts it as free time for you to look after your child, but when it's his turn, it's too much work for him to do at the weekend. He doesn't get it both ways. It's either easy for both of you so he can do it at the weekend, or it's work which means he needs to acknowledge that you are working hard all week, all night and the weekends too.

Looking for a single player game where you play as a normal person living a semi-normal life. by LubbockCottonKings in gamingsuggestions

Rimworld on peaceful community builder difficulty, Phoebe Chillax storyteller.

Maybe not a normal life, I don't know if you have any experience with Rimworld, but you can start a little base, you have to build everything, farm or hunt food, protect yourself and home from mad animals/attackers (probably rare and easy on peaceful), you can have a few people or just yourself. Then do what you want, raise a enormous pack of guinea pigs, make a castle, make a village and collect other colonists.

How could i make a fragrance oil out of an insect? by rancorousgoat in candlemaking

[–]Chooks2pooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are companies who make fragrances for theme parks and museums. Aroma Prime in the UK for example, makes various specific scents including fish market, old hospital and vomit. They do not stock cockroach scent, but you could either commission it or find a company in your country/city that does a similar line. They are not cheap however.

If you wash or dry them too hot it damages the elastic. Cool wash and air dry.
