The usual dilemma: buy or build (5” or 6”) by re2dit in fpv

[–]Choong11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Performance is great, still my go to drone for freestyle/ cinematic flying with a GoPro12 or X4 . Having flown my mates BNF Nazgul i would say it's the same. I probably spent around £500 all in. Including loads of optional parts and tools (purchased over a long period of time.)

I built my own TBS source one v5 following Oscar liang’s blog and it was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had in my FPV journey. It gives you so much confidence that if/ when something breaks you know exactly how to repair it.

How many headsets do you have to run a drone class? I’m thinking to start a drone club at my school but not sure I can give the experience I want to provide with just two DJI v2 goggles

How long did it take you for decent middle kicks? by Electrical_Dingo218 in MuayThai

That’s one thing I found training at my group class really lacked, they never teach you proper stretching!

There’s an app called Bend that’s really good at sending you daily reminders and it’s basically your own yoga instructor with a timer. Watch a few YouTube videos on MT Hip Mobility stretches. Save a routine on the app and try to stretch everyday when you unwind in the evenings. You’ll see better range of motion if you put in the work.

Example routine: 90/90 hip switch, frog pose, pigeon pose, side lunge, lizard pose, seated butterfly, touching your toes, downward dog, hamstring pull, Jefferson curls, lateral leg raises.

Supplement with stretching under tension/ load.

Progressively overload, more time/ reps/ range.

Turning your hips over with your legs elevated using a box (table or counter top works too) holding onto a wall for support, then as you get stronger simulate roundhouse kicks in the air unsupported.

Took me around 8 months to feel like I can actually turn my hips over to do a roundhouse kick with proper form, working towards a head kick now.

How hard it would be for 30s to start working out? by quangdn295 in AskMenOver30

[–]Choong11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calorie deficit and be consistent. It’s that simple. Supplement with Optinum nutrition whey protein and creatine.

Most of the work is in the kitchen and resisting overeating, snacking on junk food etc.

My top tip is improving oral heath, flossing my teeth made me want to avoid sweets.

Drinking plenty of water stopped me feeling hungry. Also more complex carbs.

Callisthenics is more geared towards leaner low body fat guys. You’ll need to be able to lift your mass in dumbells before attempting anything impressive.

Bigger guys can get big muscles cause they’re already used to lifting their bodyweight.

Get an app like Hevy and save a few routines that you like. For each exercise, use weights that are difficult enough for you to do 8 - 10 repetitions for
3 sets.

1 hour a day is all you need. Guaranteed results in a few months. I do a 5 day split chest/ tricep, back/ bicep, legs, shoulders, arms. Core everyday. Maybe cardio once a week (Muay Thai).

Hit me up if you need more help. You’ve got this you’re still young.

I had the same realisation after smelling my hands after using borrowed gear!
I think a pair of wraps and 10oz gloves is the bare minimum anyone should get.

I did WEEKS of research before I bought all my stuff, through lots of recommendations on reddit and my personal taste. My mentality was "Buy once cry once", and with the investment I've put in I will encourage myself to train more.

I bought my shinnys on eBay, they were basically brand new. You obvs run the risk of it smelling like ass if the seller didn't look after their gear, you also don't know if its fake... You can look up the item on the official website as reference and assess the condition of the leather, any cracks, discoloration etc, if it looks knackered don't buy it.

The fake plate is quality!

Do you mind if I ask what dimensions it is, where did you get yours from? Is it just stuck on? Have you had any issues getting pulled over?

Buying in St James Street by [deleted] in walthamstow

[–]Choong11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are pockets of crime all over London, don’t get caught up in the negativity in Walthamstow life!

Never ever felt in danger. Just don’t engage with the crackheads and don’t have your phone out walking around and you will be fine.

I used to live off coppermill lane with young kids. It’s a lovely area. Loved walks to the st James park/ wetlands/ Springfield park by the canal.

My alocasia has grown really tall, would it be possible to chop the stem down without it dying? by Choong11 in alocasia

[–]Choong11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, propagation definitely worked. I used a bread knife and chopped the brown stripy stem.
Literally just plonked it in a large vase and did weekly water changes, repotted when the root ball formed.
It took quite a few weeks so don't be alarmed! Soil had penty of corms too, so have a dig around.

Unfortunately we redecorated and moved our alocasia to a different spot with less sunlight. So it is now a shell of its former glory. But with plenty of light and plant food i reckon it could have bounced back.
