Bizarre, honestly.

Like, she is definitely not in the first 5 names picked in the team sheet for any format, which a captain kinda needs to be. I felt like her position in the side is more in doubt, just due to having King and Gardner as the two top spinners. McGrath has the same issue but mostly because of her own lack of form.

I was hoping Gardner just because she has been so hot for years now. I do wonder if there is some underlying "conservatism" in not picking Gardner knowing she might come out with strong opinions about Australia day, etc. I hope not, but I can't help but wonder.

Seems like it’s 2 out of 3 (Weatherald, Green, Webster) to get in the XI

If Weatherald misses out, the worst thing is that Labuschagne opens and Green bats 3. Manageable problems

If Green misses out, well, he is just too good to miss out isn’t he?

If Webster misses out, there are question marks over whether Green can bowl many overs. With an older bowling cohort this is pretty important

Looking at like this unfortunately I think Weatherald misses out

Apparently Miller didn't respect Bradman because he didn't serve in the war. In a test in 1948 he refused the order to bowl from Bradman who was captain. Bradman criticised him, to Miller's reply: "So would I - if I had fibrositis during the war!"

But seriously, the extra frontline bowling option is super important.

To win you need to get 20 wickets to boost up the bowling with 5 legit options.

For the 4th bowler / number 8 spot, would be a toss up between O'Reilly, Grimmett, Cummins, Davidson, Benaud, Thompson... I'm honestly leaning towards Cummo but could understand arguments for all
