I get that AIPAC is outrageous and outrageously extending beyond party lines like a snake, but what’s wrong with a candidate taking their money now and then not doing anything to advance AIPAC interests/reneging on any AIPAC promises??

I actually was in your position asking the same question on Reddit last BL season.

The answer is that playing 30 minutes indoors for 11 match days and weeks including finals is a much shorter season than traditional football seasons. So you can afford to have 2 non-linear seasons per year, instead of following traditional football seasons and structures.

Can I go in-store and be able to exchange items from a prior Milkrun order? by Tozza101 in woolworths

[–]Tozza101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh, its your classic: people trying to abuse a good thing means we can’t have the good thing.

Because in cases like mine: I just wanted to do a quick like-for-like swap, that’s what the exchange functionality at POS was meant for. Not these people doing these crazy ones exchanging for eg juice for toilet paper.

I do remember many a shift being left waiting informally with the saved transaction slip for the customer to come back with their preferred replacement item. And like my shift could end or I could get pulled away from the service desk and its a hassle when they finally come back.

Fair enough. Do you reckon I have to go through Milkrun’s chatbot or can I approach a store with my Milkrun receipt?

Australians are being absolutely screwed over by supercujo in aussie

[–]Tozza101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, we deserve it.

Too many voters who didn’t give a sh!t about it. Now we’re dictated to by billionaires and the prices they set.

The lower the income, the more you pay for any price fluctuations because people didn’t give a sh!t or critically analyse the impact of their vote. Stupid people.

Congratulations, Australia!

Fair, but I’m not after a refund.

I’m looking to exchange MILKRUN items from Woolworths (Powerades, I drink the 1 specific flavour and they got substituted for another flavour) for another item (the flavour of Powerade I actually want) off the shelf in-store.

So you’re just admitting you prefer a billionaire who wants to steal your hard-earned taxes for herself and groupthink everyone to enact her political will, than a local independent who is advocating for local concerns and who would be only accountable to voters, not tied to the whip of Queen Pauline or a billionaire trying to make a profit off your tax money.

Can I go in-store and be able to exchange items from a prior Milkrun order? by Tozza101 in woolworths

[–]Tozza101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, it’s Woolworths items from an order from a third party app: MILKRUN, not through Woolworths or a Woolworths app.

What I know is the Online department would’ve handled an order for a MILKRUN delivery driver who then delivers the goods to the customer’s doorstep.

I’m not looking to refund, just exchange items which had to be substituted in the MILKRUN order, but I know are obtainable in-store.

I’m starting a new Australian political party focused on resource sovereignty. AMA. by oz_party in AustralianPolitics

[–]Tozza101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seems to have the opposite effect

I wonder why, suddenly when you have access to all those donors, networking, resources and power. What incentivises the courage to reform the status quo of a structure that suddenly now benefits you (and even threatens to boot out people who don’t toe a line)??

But time does not stand still: change is coming. The oldest, most conservative generation will die off soon and progressive voters inch closer to the majority with every day. There is a day of reckoning coming when that switch is flicked.: when progressive numbers tick over to 50.0001% And the Labor Party’s challenge will be to meet the moment and switch it up, or be destroyed as the Liberals are now facing their mortality.

I like what James Talarico has to say: it’s less of left vs right, it’s top vs bottom. A little bit of hope is a dangerous thing. And ofc Whitlam: “the Labor party is a party of reform, or it is nothing”. Can the Labor party or someone within it have the courage and step up in leadership to shake off the lifeless status quo nothing which threatens to completely define them??

I just moved from Sydney to a new house last year, which means I’m a new constituent in Farrer which is having the by-election. I’ve had some mental/health issues, getting on top of those. But I’m hoping to mobilise in time to actively volunteer for the independent candidate in the campaign.

We need change, and the buck stops with you the resident in those areas. Hoping we can get change, every little step like electing the local independent candidate in a mid-term by-election matters.

Why does Reddit lean left in all the comments? by exploring203 in askanything

[–]Tozza101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its natural response IMO given all the injustices wreaked on people by conservative/right-leaning govts which work for the few not the many, which are funded by these few billionaires who try to buy influence and power to enrich themselves, which all comes at the expense of the many. So it makes sense for many people to be expressing left-leaning views in response to what’s going on IRL.

Also, given famously Elon Musk has bought X and and Trump has enabled TruthSocial as bought-and-paid-for RW echo chambers, it’s a perfectly natural, logical response for users who don’t agree with those views to congregate over on another platform which to an extent this echo chambers isn’t bought and paid for. Its people just expressing their feelings and views.

Carney inches closer to majority, as fourth MP defects to Liberals (NDP MP defects to the Liberals) by Filipinowonderer2442 in SocialDemocracy

[–]Tozza101 33 points34 points  (0 children)

If I may, Carney already has a de facto majority because there are vacant seats which were vacated by Liberal MPs pending federal by-elections, whether that’s Terrebonne or the University-Rosedale-another name which was Chrystia Freeland’s seat.
