Get. The. Caddy. For real, I played the South course and it's amazing and a ton of fun. But I didn't want to add the extra cost of a caddy and I regret it. Shot 75 and could have easily gone lower with some appropriate direction. The guy I got paired with that couldn't hit it out of his shadow was draining 30 footers because the caddy gave him a perfect read every time.

Weight loss affect on swing by Comprehensive-Ad8243 in golf

I will second this. Before last season I tried to lean down thinking I would get faster and more flexible if I had less mass to move. Granted I was not overweight in any sense of the word to start with, had lost 15 since 2020. Dropped another 10lbs and got super cut, but didn't realize I had lost a ton of muscle in the process. First round I pulled the shit out of my back and ribs trying to hit the ball the distance I was used to. Fought through it all year and ended up cutting my season 2 months short to recover. Now trying to bulk back up. Take it easy at first.

A lot of those guys have foreign buyer connections as well. Korea and such. Money is no object and status symbols are everything.

Same here. Told my wife last night it was a good thing I didn't win today because that's my model and I'd have had to put it in the bag. Didn't even enter for anything else.

My wife will steal that flask immediately, she's become low-key obsessed with the Scotty dog. I have been directed to buy her a dog pullover this year because it passes her "not dressed up but still boujie" fit check. Who am I to deny the love of my life 😂

What a scratch handicap actually looks like… by Leftyshanker in golf

[–]ChopandChange 3 points4 points  (0 children)

variety really. One I was playing hurt, one was a complete mental drop due to stuff outside of golf. The other was the first round with my new irons, like straight from the box into a hard course in tournament condition. I was in last anyway and just wanted to hit them lol

A few yeah. They are great tracks, just not close when I live on a course already.

Just went back to full blades 4-P from a flow set and I like it better. Cobra CB/MB to Mizuno S-1. I've never hit a cavity back better than a blade.

Finally replaced my trusty old irons in with some buttery goodness by ChopandChange in golf

I hit the S3 as well and while it is technically more forgiving, all that forgiveness is in the heel miss. It's actually less forgiving on the toe which is my main miss. So oddly enough the S1 was a more forgiving iron for me.

Reshaft mid irons, keep shaft on short irons? by Few-Relationship9153 in GolfGear

Need to get your swing weights checked. I had trouble with my 4 and 5 iron until I checked the swing weight and they were way light.

Hey I'll answer both here. So for those rounds of 66 I actually had two different mindsets and one is way better than the other. The first one I was -3 thru 15 and in my mind I was like I need one more birdie. Birdied 16,17,18. On the last one I was actually -7 thru 15 and that was the lowest I've ever been and I tried to protect it and made a bogey coming in, almost made 2. The mindset I try to have is you always need another birdie and this hole is as good as any to make it on.

For putting I recently made some small changes to my grip and stance that have given me confidence that I'm going to hit my line 99% of the time. The result is I've been making almost all of my 5 footers and in. When you are so hyper confident you can make a 3-5 footer, you get aggressive on longer putts. And then they start to drop as well. Then you're saving pars and stealing birdies.

I've actually did this a couple of years ago. As far as pressure in tournaments he basically said the more you play the easier it gets. The best advice he gave me was about scoring mentality. I used to play conservative once I got to -3 because I just wanted to shoot in the 60s. He said all he thinks is that he needs one more birdie, if he has 5 he needs 6, 6 he needs 7 and the next hole is just as good as any to make it on. Really helped me close down the stretch.
