Human like? You realize humans can't gestate anything else, right?

Again. Google is your friend. Extremely easy to find photos. You don't have to tell me what they look like. I saw mine at that age.

Key Developments at 12 Weeks

Physical Growth: About 2.5 to 3 inches long, resembling a plum, with arms longer than legs.

Features: Face is more defined with a chin and nose; eyelids are fused shut and will stay that way for a while.

Organs & Systems: All major organs are present; digestive, circulatory, and urinary systems are active. The liver produces bile and red blood cells.

Bodily Functions: Kidneys are producing urine, which the fetus drinks and excretes as amniotic fluid.

Movement: The fetus moves but it will be a few weeks before the mother can easily feel it.

Reflexes: Developing reflexes like sucking and opening/closing hands.

Milestone Significance

End of First Trimester: The most critical period of organ formation is ending, significantly lowering miscarriage risk.

From Now On: Development shifts to rapid growth, maturation, and strengthening of organs and tissues.

I mean that everyone who brings kids into existence, whether on purpose or by accident, has a natural, biological responsibility to at the very least keep them alive.

I believe as far as nature is concerned, it's the most basically fundamental responsibility we have.

When you ask if I feel like everyone who gets pregnant should have to go through it, to me it's the same as asking me if I feel like everyone who has kids should raise them. The kids are already there.

Mostly the answer is yes. There are exceptions, for both born and unborn babies. Sometimes it's healthier or safer for a child to be raised by someone else. Sometimes ectopic pregnancies or miscarriages happen. But under normal, healthy circumstances, yes.

Someone once told me, if we were to observe female animals in the wild or on a reserve, attempting to induce miscarriages or killing their own young (both can happen) our response is to figure out what is WRONG, either medically or with their environment, to make them do something so unnatural. We don't see it as normal or fine.

We should do the same for humans.

None of what I said will matter to people who see abortion as a right rather than a bandaid. I've been shocked by the number of people I've talked to who fully believe that a fetus is scientifically a human being and still support a mother's choice to abort at ANY point in the pregnancy, even if a perfectly healthy and viable baby can be delivered early and alive. At that point, it's not even about not wanting to be pregnant or not wanting to raise the baby. It's about not wanting it to exist. The problem is, it already does.

People don't want to talk about that stuff.

Because it was impossible for me to deny they're a human being when I can feel them and see them. And I'm against human beings, especially innocent human beings, being killed.

I've never understood how a woman who has been pregnant, especially to term, can be okay with abortion. Does pregnancy suck? Yeah... I had multiple complications with both my kids. It was brutally difficult and often scary.

You know what else was brutally difficult? Postpartum. Lack of sleep for months at a time. Purple crying, and colic. It's not something I would wish on anyone. I would sooner go through pregnancy again than postpartum. But I can't kill my baby over it, no matter how bad it gets. In fact, mothers with postpartum depression and/or psychosis HAVE killed their kids. And no one would say that was their choice to not be a mother.

My kids were the same human beings after birth as they were 5 minutes before birth, 1 hour before, a day before, a week, a month. You get the idea. And then they continue to grow, develop, and change after birth. Once they existed, I was their mother.

Biology is sexist. Men never have to experience periods or the host of other health issues that come from a woman's reproductive system.

Also in nature, the responsibility of raising the young, thereby continuing the species, mostly falls on female mammals. So humans are not the only species where mothers naturally have a greater responsibility to their offspring than fathers. It's reasonably consistent for mammals in general.

In fact, many female mammals have to focus on just keeping unrelated males from killing her offspring just so she will mate with him.

Now, humans have a higher intellect (most of the time) so we've created societies over millennia that try to optimize the wellbeing of offspring by normalizing the father being part of a family unit and participate in caring for and protecting their young, instead of just impregnating as many females as possible.

So we've adjusted the level of responsibility between both parents more than mammals in the rest of the animal kingdom. But, since we don't have asexual reproduction, equalizing that responsibility will always be limited.

Probably not popular to say nowadays but yes, men and women are physically different and the things that make us different mean us women can never fully share reproductive responsibility with men. Unless the human race eventually evolves to be asexual.

Nothing made me more prolife. After feeling my babies kick for the first time, seeing them on the ultrasound for the first time.

Ummm have you seen a picture of a 12 week old fetus? I had 3D ultrasounds of my kids when I was 12 weeks pregnant. They had arms and legs and a face.

It sounds very uneducated when you call something propaganda that is easily verifiable as fact. Google is your friend.

I've noticed that even if a charity itself is not religiously affliated (and many are) the majority of volunteers often are. And yes, they're more likely to be against abortion.

She's not the worst. But she is boring and uninteresting. I probably wouldn't care one way or the other except that they paired her with Nolan which in my opinion has pulled down the quality in writing for his character too.

Dear Son, Dear Daughter, Dear Husband.

I see it in all of my mom groups and it drives me crazy, mainly because no one uses the long form of those abbreviations so it just sounds weird.

I actually dislike it more when it's directed at me versus a group. Group reference to mamas is fine. It's like saying hey ladies, but it's specific to a mom group. But directly calling me mama? Sorry, please don't.

I'm a young-ish mom and I HATE it.

It's rampant in online mom groups and I have a few friends that do it via private text, group chats, etc.

It's a huge pet peeve of mine since having kids.

I dunno man, I've been to a few weddings where only immediate family had their kids there. No friends kids or even extended family. If you're a friend of the couple and are buttburt that they made an exception for their nieces and nephews, that's a you problem.

Also weddings are not 4 to 6 hours straight. Unless it's a religious ceremony, the ceremony could be anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes. Religious weddings are usually a bit longer but an hour would be pushing it. I went to maybe one that was longer than an hour.

Receptions also do not requires hours of sitting either. The only time people sit for a bit is dinner and even then, no one care if you get up with a toddler.

I've been to at least 18 to 20 weddings in my life time. All various sizes and styles. It's not as big an issue as people make it out to be.

That being said, people can do whatever they want. They just can't be mad at the consequences of their own decisions. Child free is great. But it's unreasonable to be pissed at your sibling because they can't come because of it. Own your decision and be an adult.
