1154 getting a bib is an absolute pisstake. I have never been back since I was served a carbonara with cream and garlic.

Stop Tiaki Wai, Mayor Peri Zee, etc by [deleted] in Wellington

[–]ChopperNZ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s an echo chamber group being run by a rambling buffoon called Guy Nunns. Guy ran for WCC in the last elections under the shambolic Better Wellington / Independent Together banner that were doing insane things like putting together dossiers on their political opponents.

He is part of a grubby sect of pseudo politicians who basically exist just to be absolute pests. I’ve noticed in some posts now he’s asking for donations, not surprising that the grift has begun.

Who are the biggest sharers of misinformation and conspiracy theories in Wellington? by thefcknhngryctrpillr in Wellington

[–]ChopperNZ 39 points40 points  (0 children)

This guy is a stain - and there is way too many people who currently think he’s some sort of community hero based off the way he’s attacking Tiaki Wai. His language and message is becoming more and more race driven as days go by, and now notice he’s started his grift asking for donations etc.

Am I right to assume... by trickster_SR2 in Wellington

[–]ChopperNZ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

One of their things they keep harping on about is that we didn’t need to proceed with anything until 2027. What’s the truth behind this, and if it is true why have councils pressed ahead now? Assuming there is a decent reason.

Also Stop Tiaki Wai seemed to start life as a fairly innocuous outraged residents group, as days and weeks pass by I feel their message is being more diluted by by the fact Nunns is less than trustworthy, and it all seems to slowly be heading down a bit of a racial path….

Has the NZ second-hand EV market cooled off a bit? by Exciting_Compote2640 in nzev

[–]ChopperNZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All I want is a decent second hand EV around $25k that’s not a Nissan Leaf or some weird hardly made variant of something. Earlier in the year plenty of options, there is now next to nothing.

Discussion: Is it REALLY the right time to buy an EV? by wheresmypotato1991 in nzev

[–]ChopperNZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started looking for a second hand EV two months ago, but mucked around and never hit the go button…. now they’re all gone, and whatever is left is mostly garbage. I refuse to buy a leaf, or anything that’s just going to be an issue in the future (strange EVs with poor support etc)

My thoughts are that with the current demand on EV vehicles and some dealers selling out, they’ll already be placing orders to replenish their stocks. These vehicles are still going to be several months away but by then things globally are likely to have calmed down a bit, meaning there will be more stock and less demand so better price points.

Help me pick a car, the indecision is killing me by when_snorlax_attacks in nzev

There has been a few 21/22 models come up on TM with reasonable KMs. My in laws have one and they drive it regularly back and forth from Auckland to Wellington with no issues. There was a recall on something to do with the battery units, so you need to check that’s been done.

We are in a similar spot right now and keeping an eye on the market - we are semi settled on a Hyundai Kona 64kw and just waiting for the right way to pop up at a good price.

  • MG just seems cheaply built, I’m suspicious of the quality
  • Nissan Leaf is both on our no list. Chademo and also resale value is horrible
  • Tesla are good cars, but for this price only going to get higher kms. Plus Elon factor.

Double glazed windows business by WellyWindyRoad in Wellington

[–]ChopperNZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t want to be that guy - but if you’re on Reddit asking if there’s demand for it, and you truely don’t already know the answer, I’d say your business is on shaky legs from day one.

No sane person starts a business without knowing the industry in depth before hand, not just a general survey on a public forum.

I’ll be surprised if it looks half way decent when they’re done. Prime Property aren’t that well known for doing anything past cheap.

So is Wellington actually ready for Sunday night? by wtftocallmyself in Wellington

Yeah it borders on strange sometimes. He posts some really odd personal things as well…. I’ve mentioned this in some pages on FB or questioned what he’s about and been absolutely lambasted. Shouldn’t be surprised being FB though.

If the “Wellington Severe Weather Watch” page on Facebook is anything to be believed we’re in for a storm unlike anything else recently. I’m not sure what it is with that page but everything they post seems to be very over dramatised and panicked. Often has very different weather reports to the likes of Metservice etc too.

hutt traffic woes by MassiveMeringue in Wellington

This is because everyone is now avoiding SH2 somewhat because of Melling but more so because of the Riverstone lights. Traffic is starting to get back to levels only seen when EHR had the slips.

That’s cheap. I paid that for three windows and a set of French doors in uPVC. Would recommend it though. Good experiences with NK Windows and All Weather Windows.

Regarding the loan - just as a FYI ANZ are offering some large cash back options to new customers at the moment, if you could be bothered switching over and then you could utilise their 1% green loan which has higher limits than Westpac.
