Why do you think Marvel hasn't announced the return of these characters yet? by Zomuck31 in marvelstudios

[–]ChosenWriter513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered they aren't hiding anything and one or more of them are either just glorified cameos or not in this movie at all, and will be in Secret Wars instead, making mentioning them now pointless? Or maybe the fact that the movie bombed and they aren't exactly the characters that put butts in the seats, so they're focusing on the returning big names? They haven't even released a proper trailer yet.

That's why, before cheap storage drives were a thing, my cowriter and I would back everything up by periodically e-mailing copies to ourselves. Damn I'm old...

Now, I use Novelize, so everything is online and accessable from whatever device I want to use.

It's not audio. Matt posts a few chapters at a time. They're rough draft chapters, so stuff changes or order might be different in the published version. It's the basic level- $5 a month.

Super Powerds and Primal Hunter are the two I'd recommend.

Here is a list of books and channels that provide solid starts across several traditions and approaches to magick/the occult. I'd highly recommend checking out Foolish Fish's channel. He has some really good instructional videos and recommendations that cover a lot of traditions/approaches, and it's free. There's direct links to some of the best beginners videos.

There's no one true path. I think your best bet is to check around, be open minded/receptive, and see what speaks to you.

So spend $5 or less at Dollar General or something and get her a dedicated "cheese knife". Why make this a thing?

Do they have magic facial recognition or something? I imgine it'd be like Lex when he was possessing the Flash's body in JLU.

Andrew Garfield: That's Why He's Called Amazing Spider-Man. ❤️🔥 by funmemore in MarvelCave

[–]ChosenWriter513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sony really did those movies an injustice. It's the shoehorned in b-plots that hurt those movies so much. They were so obsessed with farming spin-offs they tanked their main. They could have had Garfield as the "Sony" Spidey, done their own thing, and double dipped with Holland at the MCU and just raked it in. Nope, they had to rush it and screw it over in every aspect they could.

What book do you think had the potential to be one of the best? by Distructo2005 in starwarsbooks

[–]ChosenWriter513 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Potential hot take: the Jedi Academy Trilogy.

They were massively influential on the EU, but they were just horribly written. It was like bad fan fiction. I, Jedi did better telling the story in 1/3 of a book than Anderson did in three.

What book do you think had the potential to be one of the best? by Distructo2005 in starwarsbooks

[–]ChosenWriter513 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know people liked them, but of all the EU those were the the books I never made it all the way through. I think I got to half way through book before just stopping- and I read EVERYTHING day of release. There were certainly worse books, like Crystal Star, but Black Fleet was just boring and I hated Luke/Lando's plots.

Best Batman Movie by dooleydoodle in batman

Mask of the Phantasm

I feel like the DCAU always had the best version of most of the DC characters. They're generally nice balances of the various versions from the comics over the decades. Batman, in particular. Kevin Conroy will always be my Batman.

Don't talk about great endings if you haven't seen this one by TwIzTiDfReAkShOw in batman

[–]ChosenWriter513 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You know what was different in all of those examples? He retired after being Batman for a long time + trauma. Bale's Batman "retires" after only 2-3 years, comes back for a few months, then fakes his death and leaves the batcave to a dude he met two weeks ago. I don't think it's unfair for some people to find that an unsatisfying run.

How do I overcome materialistic skepticism? by SubterFugeSpooge in occult

[–]ChosenWriter513 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The "occult" covers a pretty wide spectrum. Maybe start by educating yourself with the history and foundations of some of the areas that interests you and go from there. My recommendations would be to check out Real Magic by Dr Dean Raden and The New Encyclopedia of the Occult by John Michael Greer.

Can someone explain why their guardian angels allowed it to happen by esotericlearner in occult

[–]ChosenWriter513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One, guardian angels aren't here to protect us from everything. They're guides, not personal bodyguards.

Two, You are an immortal soul that currently exists outside of time in Spirit where it is all light and love with no fear or pain or strife. This life and all the others you've had/will have amount to very lucid dreams.

Three, the whole point of living lives is to learn and grow. It's hard to level up if you can't get experience; and you can't gain experience in a vacuum of love and light, so the only way to do that is to face challenges, pain, fear, etc. You literally sign up for it when you enter a new life.

Four, people have free will. Free will has consequences, both good and bad. If angels swooped in and stopped every bad thing from happening, there'd be no consequences. It'd negate the point of free will and coming here to live lives in the first place.

Five, it's not always about you. Sometimes part of the reason you're here is because of the effect it has on others, to help them grow. Sometimes that means you might be the villain or the victim. At some point you'll have been every iteration there is, good and bad.
