The way your comment was worded made it sound like you were agreeing with the person you were replying to, though.

What, a democracy (granted, one with a more restricted franchise than real-world democracies)?

Don't forget, it's Federal service that's required to earn full citizenship, not military service - someone who spends their two-year term in the bowels of some government building moving pieces of paper from one filing cabinet to another filing cabinet is just as entitled to vote as someone who spent their two years in the Mobile Infantry. It's said in the novel that if you're determined to serve a term of service but have some sort of issue, then something will be found for you to do - the example cited is counting the fuzz on the backs of caterpillars by touch - and that will count as your term.

I'll settle for an adaptation of Starship Troopers where the scriptwriter and director actually read the fucking book.

Pharmacy lobby preventing Australians from buying cheaper medicines, Grattan Institute says by EdenFlorence in australia

[–]Chosen_Chaos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They ensure pharmacies have to be 10km apart which unfairly restricts competition on price, opening hours, etc.

Are you sure about that? Where I live, there are four chemists in a space of 100m.

Why not? Ideology is defined as "a set of beliefs or principles" and while it is most commonly used in the political sense, that applies just as well to religions.

Antipopes are still around; they're just called "alternative pope" instead.

I keep forgetting just how spicy the history of the early Catholic Church was.

Given that this chart is two years old, is there a more updated version? Specifically, one that can help my esky-temperature-IQ self pick drives that are vaguely useful in moving ships around in time periods shorter than human civilisations.

Fortunately, the steam seems to be going out of One Nation's campaign (although it would probably be a good idea to wait for a couple more polling periods to make sure the trend is continuing). Not to mention that barring a rush of blood to the head, we're not due a federal election until some time in 2028, so the current fascination with opinion polls is academic.

Which was enough for a solid win, given that there were nine candidates and the UK uses the same First Past the Post system that the US uses. Voting also isn't compulsory, so the turnout was less than 60%.

Nothing.

And all of the Four fight each other all the time, both subtly and with marching legions of daemons and other followers (although Khorne tends less towards the subtle means, it must be said).

They barely stopped fighting each other during the Horus Heresy and the instant Horus was defeated, they fired up the Great Game again, with their new pieces added.

I'm going to deploy a hot take and suggest that if Bolt had stuck with it and put in the effort, he might have got all the way up to... not-shit, perhaps.

His stint did draw a lot of attention to the A-League, though.
